Ellen DeGeneres knows a thing or two about gay marriage! She and Portia de Rossi were one of the first couples to wed when it was temporarily legal in California!

So now that Prop 8 is headed to the Supreme Court, our favorite talk show host decided to throw in her two cents. And that's like having two Lincolns give speeches! She wrote:

"California's Proposition 8 is headed to the Supreme Court. Hundreds of companies and families as well as Republicans are submitting briefs urging the 9 judges to allow gay people to marry.

I thought that was ridiculous. Why would judges want all of that underwear?

Then, after a quick talk with some people, I found out what a brief was.

I've never filed a brief to the Supreme Court, so I thought I would post mine here. I'm sure someone will tweet it to them."

Oh, we'll do you one better, Ellen! We recommend reading the whole letter. It's funny and wonderful and, for a brief, pretty brief!

Marriage isn't a federal issue, our asses!

Despite openly supporting gay marriage and emphasizing the importance of equal rights SPECIFICALLY when it comes to homosexuals in his inauguration speech, President Obama (well his administration at least) have remained adamant that enforcing or amending marriage laws is NOT the job of the federal government…

BUT, it seems that Obama and his peeps have had a change of heart, as the Obama admin. will file a "friend-of-the-court" brief in the Supreme Court TODAY in SUPPORT of those homosexual couples who took legal issue against Prop 8 when it shat all over the rights of California's gays 4 years ago!

Obama's Administration is URGING the court to overturn Prop 8, which would allow previous same-sex marriages to be recognized and (hopefully) would pave the way for complete gay-marriage legalization in the state of California.

The fate of Prop 8 will reportedly be decided by June… here's to Elton John FINALLY getting his wish of marrying in CA!

Yet another example of our wonderful President promoting tolerance and equality!

Bradley Cooper has something in common with his main squeeze, Renee Zellweger.

He too was only married for four months!

He and actress Jennifer Esposito were married back in 2006, but things didn't last long.

In a recent interview with Howard Stern, Bradley spoke about his brief marriage:

"It was just something that happened. The good thing is, we both realized it…Sometimes you just realize it. It just wasn't right. It's interesting…things happen!"

When asked if his short married turned him off to the idea all together, Bradley responded, "Making any declarative statement [like that] is a joke."

So this is good news for him and Renee!

Perhaps we'll hear wedding bells in the future??
