Do you work to live or live to work?
A new study suggests that people working at least 11 hours a day, compared to those working just 7 or 8, are over TWICE as likely to develop depression!
After following 2,123 British civil servants for six years, researchers found people working long hours have 2.5 times the odds of getting depressed.
The odds only increased for overworked junior and mid-level employees, however. The execs and bosses didn't seem to mind working, mostly because they have more control over their workload, as one Penn State University chairman put it:
“We have more control over what we work on; we can choose the fun stuff. I do mostly what I want to do, and when I put in an extra hard week, it’s my choice.”
So basically, this study should just give you another reason to hate your boss.
