The Gay, Lesbian & Straight Education Network will be giving Jason Collins the Courage Award at the end of this month at the GLSEN Respect Awards for being the first openly gay, active athlete in the NBA, MLB, NFL, or NHL!

Brittney Griner is the best player in the WNBA right now, and she happens to be gay as well. So when Jason Collins found the courage to come out as gay in the NBA, she was inspired to continue her mission to help others live their open and free lives!

It's weird to us that the idea of being openly gay in professional sports is even a discussion in 2013 — that shizz should have happened YEARS ago!

A lot of debate is going on in the male sports arenas about whether or not players should be open about their sexuality, but in the WNBA it's less of a big deal because the women have been embracing it for a while already! It doesn't matter to them whether or not their teammates are gay, and absolutely they should be open about it!

A women's basketball star in the NBA??

YES PLEASE!!

Mark Cuban, owner of the Mavericks, Shark Tank shark, and all around normal and decent dude (who happens to be filthy f***ing rich), has just said that he'd think about drafting Baylor's Brittney Griner! That would make her the first women's basketball player in the NBA and we think he should TOTALLY do it!

When Barack Obama isn't busy coming up with budgets or running America, he turns into a bracketologist and makes predictions for the NCAA Tournament!!

Our Prez recently met up with ESPN's senior college basketball journalist, Andy Katz to show him his Final Four selections, and in it, he chose the Indiana Hoosiers in the men's division to win the whole enchilada, and he picked Brittney Griner and the Lady Bears of Baylor for the women's bracket.

For the past five years, Obama has shared his bracket predictions with ESPN, and in 2012, two of his guesses were actually RIGHT.

It looks like BObama knows a thing or two about hoops!!

One of our favorite athletes, Mz. Serena Williams, just won the Subway Sportswoman of the Year at the 2012 BET Awards. We hope Venus isn't too jealous. Ha!

Oklahoma City Thunder star Kevin Durant lost the NBA Finals to LeBron James and the Miami Heat, but he took home Sportsman of the Year anyway.

You don't need to win a championship to be considered a winner and these two fantastic role models for every young athlete prove that!
