Jessica Biel is making her Broadway debut. Vanessa Hudgens is starring in Rent.

How about we let Lindsay Lohan do a one woman version of West Side Story, since it is obvious legitmate theater is being MASSACRED!

Miz Biel is slated to star in the new Broadway musical Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown.

It will later be renamed "Audience Flees From Broadway Because of Nervous Breakdown."

The director of the original 1988 film, Pedro Almodovar, told reporters at Cannes this weekend that Jess has a great voice and “everyone connected with the production is excited about the choice.”

Puh-lease!!! Lying won't make this awful situation worse!

Stop trying to be more than you are - an adequate B-list actress! That is more than some people get!

Know your place!!!

About time! You're a little late to this party, Sting, but hopefully you pull out something good.

Sources are revealing that the mellow music man is partnering with Tony Award-winning writer Brian Yorkie to write/compose a Broadway musical.

No details on production just yet, but sources believe that the show will be based on an origial idea from Sting and probably take place in the world in which he grew up in.

Uh, we're going to need a little more than that, Stinger.

Give us the deets!

Disney Has BIG Plans For The Stage

The House of Mouse has had some pretty big successes on the Great White Way. (And then, there was The Little Mermaid. Yikes!)

Though plans for something new to hit Broadway from Disney has been nothing more than hushed whispers and Internet rumors, we've discovered that there are tons of classic Disney films being considered for the stage.

One Disney source has noted that there are several domain names being bought out by the Disney Corp., suggesting the future plans in bringing these films to the stage.

Some shows have already been established in other places, like Aladdin (AladdinOnTour.com), which is currently playing as an attraction in the Disney Parks and Sister Act (SisterActOnTour.com), which is currently playing in London's West end.

The source noted as many as 20 new shows being considered, including:

Aladdin, Alice in Wonderland, Calendar Girls, Citizen Ruth, Coyote Ugly, The Father of the Bride, The Flamingo Kid, Freaky Friday, Hunchback of Notre Dame, The Jungle Book, The Newsies, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Pirates of the Caribbean, Pollyanna, Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion, Shakespeare in Love, Sister Act, Step Up, Toy Story, and Yellow Submarine

Phew! That's a lot of show-tunes!

We can already spot the flops (Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion, anyone?), but we're sure whichever shows they decide to go with, the money will just POUR into their pockets.

Because let's face it - Disney can do no wrong for the true fan!

Which of these shows would U actually like to see be made into Broadway magic?

Where American Idol Contestants' Careers Go To Die

wenn2809370jb.jpg

Ouch! You, too, bb??

Well, she put up a fight, we'll give her that!

When you're a former American Idol contestant and you can't sell records, there's only one option: Broadway!

Jordin Sparks is the latest has-been to come to this sobering realization, so she'll be playing Nina Rosario in the production of In The Heights from August 19-November 14th!

She says:

“It’s always been one of my dreams to perform on Broadway. This is a brand new experience for me. I look so forward to spending time in New York City and joining this talented cast and my favorite new musical.”

Who wants to take bets on how long it will take her to realize this is the best she's gonna get and extend that run full-time??

Priscilla Is Finally Hitting The Big Apple!!

priscilla2010.jpg

Priscilla is back! The hit movie is leaving the Australian Outback and is heading to Broadway!

The stage musical originated in Sydney and traveled to London, but now the big tour bus is making its way to the Big Apple. In talks to play Adam/Felicia, the role Guy Pearce made famous is West Side Story's Matt Cavenaugh.

Hair's Will Swenson will play Tick/Mitzy, the role played onscreen by Hugo Weaving. Terence Stamp's Bernadette will be reprised by Tony Sheldon. Director Simon Phillips is also returning to the show.

We can expect the Queen of the Desert to hit the stage March 2011.

Also, coming to the stage next spring is Daniel Radcliffe in How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying and even more interestingly, The Book of Mormon by…South Park creators, Trey Parker and Matt Stone.

2011 is going to be an amazing year for Broadway!
