Florida resident Cindy Lincoln finally joined the Facebook craze two months ago and it may have been one of the best decisions she ever made because it saved her life!
After waking up around midnight on Memorial Day to fold clothes, while her husband was out of town, Cindy suffered a nasty fall out of her chair in the laundry room and broke her femur bone.
Of course, her first thought was to call 911, however that wasn't an option, as she explained:
"To go up to the kitchen to the telephone, I would have had to go up a couple of steps and I knew I wasn't going to be able to do that."
With no phone, Cindy turned to the power of the internet and the instantaneous communication a social networking site like Facebook offers. In excruciating pain she inched her way toward a lap top sitting on a nearby desk and logged on to her recently opened account, then posted on a group only her family members can see, "Call 911, I need help."
It's moments like this when being addicted to Facebook is completely warranted, as just minutes later her daughter-in-law wrote, "ON MY WAY" and emergency services arrived.
Cindy is now on the road to recovery at her local hospital, but admits without Facebook she may not be alive. We hope she's busy writing a "thank you" letter not only to her daughter-in-law, but maybe Mark Zuckerberg as well!
