Computer users have known the browser Internet Explorer for many, many years.
But it's still a little sad, for nostalgia reasons, to see that Microsoft won't be using Internet Explorer and will instead be using an entirely new type of internet browser for Windows 10 when that comes out sometime in the summer.
The new name for this upcoming browser hasn't been figured out yet, so for the meanwhile it's being called Project Spartan.

The news was revealed at the Microsoft Convergence on Monday when Microsoft's marketing chief Chris Capossela said the following:

Internet Explorer may finally bite the dust.
Reportedly, only one percent of PC owners use the archaic browser. Even Microsoft doesn't people using IE6.
When IE7 was introduced, IE6 was used by 80% of PC'ers. Now with Firefox, Chrome, Safari, and IE10, it might be time to put IE6 in the nursing home.
But there are still folks out there using IE6, with 8% of non United States users on IE6.
Somebody please put the old browser out of it misery.
