A-Rod May Face MLB Suspension For Illegal Gambling

A-Rod suspension

Uh oh! Alex Rodriguez could be in the some big trouble with the MLB for his participation in Hollywood's illegal poker ring.

The Yankee, who witnesses say played in two games that went horribly awry, has been ordered by Major League Baseball commissioner Bud Selig to appear before investigators over tge allegations.

A spokesman for the MLB told sources:

"We take this very seriously and have been investigating this matter since the initial allegation. As part of the investigation, the Commissioner's Office will interview Mr. Rodriguez."

An anonymous insider in the baseball community has said the commissioner is "totally fed up with him" after warning the third baseman to stay away from illegal gambling in 2006. So fed up that the insider says "a possible suspension would be very much in play."

It sounds like A-Rod has really done it this time! We understand he likes to gamble, but isn't that what Las Vegas or Atlantic City is for? We're sure he could blow his money just as easily legally as he has illegally!

MLB Rejects Dodgers TV Deal With FOX

This won't help Frank McCourt maintain control of the Dodgers!

The owner and the El Lay baseball organization has been in financial trouble for quite some time now, but most recently has suffered another set back.

Baseball Commissioner Bud Selig has rejected a proposed $3 billion television deal between the Dodgers and Fox Sports because he believes the deal is not in the best interest of baseball and will further divert team assets to McCourt's personal needs.

McCourt has been struggling to pay his players since the beginning of the season, so without this deal it is uncertain whether he'll maintain control of the team or Commissioner Selig will take over.

FOX NOT Buying The Dodgers, But Someone Else Might

Frank McCourt

Frank McCourt, the owner of the Los Angeles Dodgers, originally bought the team from FOX in 2003, but due to the clubs financial trouble, he has recently received a $30 million loan from the network to pay his players!

While there was speculation that FOX may want their team back, apparently owning a baseball team doesn't fit in with their business model and will stick to just broadcasting El Lay team.

However, the Major League Baseball commissioner Bud Selig was not too happy to hear about this loan and had actually told McCourt, who was already in financial trouble, he could no longer use loans to fund the team.

In response to the payroll loan, the commissioner has seized the control of the team by appointing a representative to oversee the "business and the day-to-day operations of the Club."

While McCourt is already preparing a lawsuit against the major league, Selig has said they are looking into "the possibility of replacing the owner."

Sounds like the Dodgers are in a lot of trouble! No wonder FOX doesn't want them back! Ha! We'll see if Frank, who had to fight his ex-wife to maintain ownership, will be able to win this fight against the MLB.
