Rebecca Black talks the backlash!

Six years later, Rebecca Black is reflecting on her viral song Friday, and the horrible abuse she suffered because of it.

Following the music video's release in 2011, the singer was given police protection after receiving an onslaught of death threats. And she was only 13!

In an essay for NBC News' Think published on Friday, the musician recalled the "onslaught of negative attention I received was so sudden and so intense that I wasn't sure I would survive."

She continued:

"It was open season and I was the target. The fact that there was a human, a person — a 13-year-old girl — on the other side of the screen seemingly escaped so many people's attention… I will never fully understand how I became one of the first people to experience online bullying in an extremely intense way."

The now 20-year-old also shared suffering verbal abuse from people she actually knew:

Are you listening, Donnie? You could learn a thing or two…

On Wednesday, Melania Trump — wearing a Delpozo fuchsia coatdress — gave a speech at the United Nations in New York where she focused on protecting our children from the terrors of bullying.

The First Lady said at the luncheon:

"Together, we must acknowledge that all too often it is the weakest, most innocent and vulnerable among us — our children — who ultimately suffer the most from the challenges that plague our societies. Whether it is drug addiction, bullying, poverty, disease, trafficking, illiteracy, or hunger, it is the children who are hit first and hardest in any country. And as we all know, the future of every nation rests with the promise of their young people."

Donald Trump's wife adds:

"No child should ever feel hungry, stalked, frightened, terrorized, bullied, isolated or afraid, with nowhere to turn."

After her speech went viral, people on Twitter immediately slammed the former model for her contradictory words. While she advocates for anti-bullying measures, her very own husband has been accused of intimidating behavior, especially when he reportedly mocked disabled journalist Serge Kovaleski at a 2015 rally.

What a despicable thing to say!

ICYMI, Scott Baio's wife Renee caused quite a bit of controversy on social media recently as she insulted a mother who lost her child in the Sandy Hook shooting and said that "maybe" the deceased little one was in a "better place." Oof.

The online drama started on Thursday when Renee's husband shared a conspiracy theory meme which suggested the mother of murdered Sandy Hook teacher Vicki Soto and the mother of Charlottesville victim Heather Heyer were both portrayed by actresses. As the meme implied that both tragedies were faked, the Happy Days alum eventually apologized for the offensive post.

Nonetheless, many victims' loved ones took to Twitter in order to clap back at Scott's ignorance. Nelba Marquez-Greene, who lost her six-year-old Ana during the Sandy Hook shooting, made sure to criticize Baio for his social media decision. According to Nelba, she was blocked by the industry vet at one point (below).
