This is a little too scary — and we can imagine after 2010's Buried that Ryan Reynolds probably won't be tuning in — but hey, whatever floats your boat!
Three people are apparently going to go through with being buried alive on the appropriately-named TV special Fear: Buried Alive that will air on Sunday, October 26 in advance of Halloween!

A&E — which will air the two-hour event LIVE (!) — released a statement warning of "escalating horrors" for the three participants that will "test the strength of their psyches" after the trio lies down in their coffins and gets placed six feet under.
In fact, it's so serious, the network is bringing on a trained sociologist — Margee Kerr — as well as horror film director Eli Roth to talk the trio through their ordeal. Kerr sounded pretty, um, excited for this spooky situation:

Police were out and about destroying evidence per a judge's order when they heard a faint whimpering.

Michelina Lewandowska is a survivor if we've ever heard of one!

Earlier we showed you the vid of the dramatic beach rescue of a teen who was buried alive under 5 feet of sand for almost 40 minutes.
Rescuers spent several scary minutes frantically trying to dig up the sand to reach him. A bystander who witnessed it all go down said:

A teen was buried alive after 5 feet of sand collapsed on him at Newport Beach, California.
As this video (above) shows, firefighters, paramedics, and good samaritans all rushed to the boy's safety and tirelessly dug for 40 minutes to get the boy out from under all the sand.
When rescuers finally reached him, thankfully, he was still alive. He was rushed to the hospital where he was said to be in good condition.
Thank goodness! And, bravo to all the rescuers who dove right in to help.
Guess this teaches us all a lesson…don't dig holes at the beach??
