Paris Hilton's conversation in the back of an NYC cab was recently taken way out of context after the driver recorded it and circulated a small, offensive fraction of the audio around the web.
She wants her fans and the world to know the truth though, which is that she was NOT intentionally bashing the gay community, but rather talking about a very specific friend in Spain who has AIDS and continues to have unprotected sex.
The reality star and socialite has already called the recording and subsequent media reports "beyond lame", but is taking the next appropriate step and has issued a heartfelt apology.
