La-Belle ended up giving birth first, to a cute baby calf named

Zoo Basel's New Baby Rhino Was Born As Naturally As Possible

Zoo Basel's new baby rhino was born as naturally as possible!

Zoo Basel is Switzerland has a brand new baby rhino running around their enclosure!

31-year-old Indian Rhinoceros Ellora gave birth to her male calf Kiran, a cutie baby who was born weighing 150-pounds and standing 2.1-feet-tall!!

The zoo took an inneresting approach to the birth, doing two very unconventional but natural things.

This was the first rhino birth in European that took place in front of an older sibling. Normally, when a rhino gives birth in captivity, the siblings are moved to a different location for the calf's safety.

But Kiran's older sister Henna, though uneasy at first, took an eventual liking to her little brother after being by Ellora's side during the birth.

The other new tactic used was

Endangered Black Rhino Calf Makes Public Debut!!

A little baby Black Rhino calf has finally made his public debut at Lincoln Park Zoo!!

His name is King Harris, named after a Lincoln Park Zoo supporter and member of the Board of Trustees.

The little King is so cute and part of an endangered species so he's extra ahmayzing!

He was the first one born at the zoo in 24 years!! The baby is already growing at a crazy rate, having gone from 60-pounds to 130 in about a month. These rhinos are being poached out of existence so we're so so so glad this little guy is healthy, trotting around his enclosure with his mama.

He's so freakin' CUTEEEEE!

Check out the video (above) to see the little cutie exploring the zoo!

Mama Giraffe Sets World Record!!

Mama giraffe sets a world record by giving birth to her 18th baby!!

Congrats to Jan-soon, a 27-year-old female giraffe at Everland Zoo in South Korea.

She just set a world record!!

Jan-soon gave birth to her 18th calf just a few days ago. Wait… 18?? That's crazy!!

She is now officially the world's most prolific giraffe mama in captivity!

Because the gestation period in a giraffe is about 15 months, Jan-soon has been pregnant most of her adult life.

She is part of the endangered species, the Reticulated Giraffe.

There are less than 5,000 reticulated giraffes living in the wild so Jan-soon is doing more than her part to save her species!

Each one of her babies is a little miracle!!

Congrats, Jan-soon! Way to help the conservation effort!

White Rhino Calf Is First EVER At UK Zoo!

Baby White Rhino

Congrats to Cotswold Wildlife Park in the UK!

They just welcomed their first White Rhino calf a week ago!

The cutie calf was born to first time parents Nancy and Monty!

The mama and papa rhino were specifically brought from the Mafunyane Game Farm in South Africa to breed at the zoo!

So everything went according to plan. They knocked some rhino boots and now their species just grew by one.

Because of poaching, rhinos have been dying off at faster and faster rates, so this little baby is a true gift.

The little guy is happy and healthy and so painfully cute we're just so excited for him!!

Congrats again, to the zoo and to the proud rhino parents!
