Darren Criss Revises Call Me Maybe To Take A Stand Against DOMA At The GLAAD Media Awards!

Filed under: Gay Gay GayMusic MinutePolitikGleeDarren Criss

There were MANY wonderful, inspirational moments from last night's 2013 GLAAD Media Awards - including an-always HIGHlarious Jennifer Lawrence and a powerful speech from President Bill Clinton while accepting the Advocate for Change Award - but none tickled our ear buds and drive for progress more than the incomparable Darren Criss!

The Glee hearthrob took the stage early on in the evening to delight attendees with a musical performance, and surprisingly enough, he chose to revise the lyrics of the Carly Rae Jepsen smash Call Me Maybe to accommodate a much bigger issue than unrequited teenage love - and call for the end of DOMA and Prop. 8!

Hear the clever, yet powerful re-worked number (above)!

Just AH-MAY-ZING, isn't it?!

Thanks for taking a stand, Darren! EQUAL RIGHTS FOR ALL!

Girls Aloud Kick Off The Ten Tour AND Cover Carly Rae Jepsen!

It seems as though this day would never come!

And now that it's upon us, it honestly feels like a dream COME TRUE!

Girls Aloud have kicked off their Ten Tour at the Metro Radio Arena in Newcastle Thursday night, and not only did our beloved singing sensations bring it HARD, but they had a couple of surprises in store for all of the fans who have anxiously been awaiting their return to the stage as a group for what seems like a lifetime!

We're not just talking about Cheryl Cole's new tattoo, either!

Although those roses are pretty FEROSH! LOLz!

While she, Nadine Coyle, Nicola Roberts, Sarah Harding and Kimberley Walsh DOMINATED all of our favorite hits that cemented their status as more than just the winners of Popstars: The Rivals, the ladies decided to have some fun with their set-list and through in one hell of an unexpected, yet welcome cover!

That's right!

Carly Rae Jepsen Was Getting Over You Last Night At The NRJ Awards! Watch HERE!

For everyone expecting to hear Carly Rae Jepsen sing her break-through single, Call Me Maybe, in its entirety at last night's 2013 NRJ Awards, held at the Palais des Festivals in Cannes…sorry to disappoint you!

We think it's safe to say that the infectiously catchy track has had its reign, and the Canadian pop sensation must even recognize it!

Why else do you think she'd stop singing it halfway through the number and segue into the equally awesome, slightly more mature Tonight I'm Getting Over You?!

Give it a watch (above)!

Damn! This is definitely one of our faves from Kiss, so we're so excited to finally hear it sung live!

You DO NOT DISAPPOINT, gurl!

Looking forward to more from where that came! How about U?!

Michael Bublé Calls Carly Rae Jepsen Maybe Definitely For The Holidays

Two of our favorite Canadians singing Christmas songs?

If that doesn't put you in the holiday spirit, we don't know what will!

Michael Bublé made our duet dreams come true and called up Carly Rae Jepsen for his holiday special Home for the Holidays, and those two killed it with a Jingle Bell Rock duet.

How cute is she in that foxy white dress?!

Ch-ch-check it out (above)!

It might not be Call Me Maybe, but we’ll be listening to it all holiday season…and then we’ll get back to Carly’s other hit.

You know you will, too!
