Whoever said life is easy for celebrities' kids obviously doesn't know Cameron Douglas.
Judge Richard Berman must not be a fan of Michael Douglas' work because the judge IGNORED his son's pleas to get out of jail early in federal appeals court in New York on Monday.
Cameron was first sentenced to five years behind bars in 2010 for narcotics distribution, but was then hit with an additional five years by the same judge after additional drug infractions behind bars.
That means Michael won't be seeing his son as a free man until 2018!
While the court admits it is an "unusually long sentence" for such a violation, they think the decision is justified.
We're not so sure we agree though and neither does director of Legal Affairs for the Drug Policy Alliance, Daniel Abrahamson!
The narcotics expert explained:

How unfortunate.
Michael Douglas' son, Cameron is currently serving a 10-year sentence in Loretto, Pa., but after he failed a routine drug test this month, he was placed in solitary confinement!!

Michael Douglas may have played a lawyer, a detective, and a secret agent, but he isn't really any of those things.
Which unfortunately means there's nothing he can do for his son in prison but show moral support.
And Cameron Douglas will need all the support he can get as he appeals the four and a half extra years that were added to his sentence after he was caught with heroin.

So sad!
Michael Douglas' son Cameron Douglas isn't eligible for parole until 2018, but will that be too late?
According to a source, the convicted drug dealer had a bounty put on him by a New York mobster after Cameron gave evidence implicating him at his trial.
And now it seems someone has decided to cash in, as Cameron has suffered some pretty serious injuries.

A flock of addiction experts have lent their support to Oscar winner Michael Douglas' son Cameron Douglas and have promised to help his family fight the 54-month prison sentence he is currently serving.
The 33-year-old is in the midst of a five year jail sentence for drug distribution and

The legal troubles of Michael Douglas' son Cameron Douglas are just never-ending.
It's more bad news for Cameron as the troubled 33-year-old was sentenced to 4 1/2 more years in prison for drug possession WHILE he was in prison, serving his original sentencing of five years.
The actor's son has had a very public addiction to meth, cocaine and heroin, which have landed him in jail in 1999 and in 2007.
Even though his father, as well as his stepmom Catherine Zeta-Jones and grandfather Kirk Douglas have sent letters asking for leniency, Cameron was still given a pretty long sentence.
While in court, Cameron read a letter to the New York federal Judge Richard Berman, saying this:

Oh wow.
Michael Douglas' son Cameron Douglas has pleaded guilty to a new drug charged after already getting sentenced to five years in prison this past April.
Cameron pleaded guilty to possession and dealing meth and cocaine, but he's now entered a new plea bargain that will give him another year in jail after he admitted to getting drugs in prison while serving his current sentence.
Illegal substances were found in his cell and sources say that he could have had them all the way back to May to just this last week.
Earlier this year when he was in court, Cameron said:
"I apologize to my family and my loved ones for putting them through this nightmare of my making. I ask for an opportunity to be a role model to my younger brothers and sisters."
What a horrible scenario this has turned out to be. We really do feel for Cameron's family and we just want to see him clean and sober. It doesn't look jail is the most healthiest place for him either, but he is ordered to take drug education classes when he IS released from jail. Hopefully, he'll be able to learn something from them.
