Texas Southern University On Lockdown After Gunman Reported — The Campus' Third Shooting In Two Months
UPDATE 4:49 pm ET: Reports now indicate at least one person has died from their wounds in Friday morning's shooting at Texas Southern University.
We're so sick of reporting on these awful stories over and over again.
Texas Southern University in southeast Houston, Texas, is on lockdown after a shooting at a campus-owned apartment building early Friday morning.
The shooting has rocked the school, with spokesperson Eva Pickens confirming that police have not yet caught the suspect, and there are at least two victims:
- "Texas Southern University has announced the campus is on lockdown following a shooting incident just moments ago. Early reports indicate two shot - conditions not known right now. The assailant is still at large. All staff are asked to remain in offices - students to remain in classrooms until further notice."
For Texas Southern students, this now marks the third such campus-related shooting in the last six weeks.
Our thoughts are with all those affected today as law enforcement can hopefully track down the shooter with no other injuries or incidents.
