Oh no! Jimmy Carter has some very serious health problems.
The former President of the United States revealed Wednesday that he is seeking medical care after being diagnosed with cancer.
In a brief but heavy statement, the 90-year-old said:
"Recent liver surgery revealed that I have cancer that now is in other parts of my body. I will be rearranging my schedule as necessary so I can undergo treatment by physicians at Emory Healthcare. A more complete public statement will be made when facts are known, possibly next week."
The liver surgery on August 3 was to remove a "small mass." Before the diagnosis his recovery was said to be excellent.
Our thoughts go out to President Carter and his family.
