We're always down for some cheeky comedy, but some 'pranks' can cause tears where there ought to be laughter!

While backstage at Capital FM's Summertime Ball, tasty British cupcake Cheryl Cole encountered some rather odd reporters she believed to be from the BBC, who kept asking, "why are we here?"

At first, Cheryl took the question to mean why was press allowed backstage, but once the interviewers continued to repeat the question, Cheryl apparently thought they were making fun of her!

Finally, the strange BBC representatives added a more philosophical twist, asking: "Why are we here… on Earth?"

At which point, Cheryl stormed off.

Fresh off her JUBILANT performance for Her Royal Majesty, Jessie J entertained a slightly less regal crowd at Capital FM's Summertime Ball.

She ran into Katy Perry backstage and — rumor has it — the two multi-platinum recurring artists were pleased as punch to get in some good girl talk over tea and crumpets.

It wasn't all ice cream, butterflies, and Freddie Mercury mustaches, though.

The duo talked biz, ultimately deciding a partnership might be profitable.

Our favorite Texas gurl Kelly Clarkson joined the slew of stars, including Katy Perry and Justin Bieber, who took part in this year's Capital FM Summertime Ball in London!

Mz. Clarkson hit the stage on Saturday, amping up the crowd of nearly 80,000 at Wembley Stadium, with that powerful voice of hers!

Whoa! What a dramatic transformation!

Cheryl Cole made QUITE the costume change at Saturday night's Capital FM Summertime Ball held at UK's Wembley Stadium.

Early in the evening, she wore a mini peach-colored Hakaan Arussi dress with satin trim along with nude Charlotte Olympia for the event's red carpet.

But, later, things got CRAY when Chezza came out and performed for the big crowd.

She blasted everyone's faces with her multi-colored Pam Hogg bodysuit with gold ankle boots and diamond trim. She had our heads seriously spinning!

So many colors! So much shine! It's like a parade just threw up all over the place!

Carly Rae Jepson made a surprise appearance this weekend at the Capital FM Summertime Ball in London.

Before joining Justin Bieber on stage, the Call Me Maybe singer posed for photos in a Topshop sequin dress and Valentino studded kitten heels.

We love her dress, mostly because it's only $160, but we would have left the belt back at the hotel and opted for a simpler shoe.
