Chris Evans & Topher Grace Stay Active On Set!

Stop us if you've heard this one: So Captain America and Venom go for a jog…

LOLz!

This is kinda cool — we don't normally get to see two celebs staying active together, even if it's on the set of a movie. In this case, the movie is A Many Splintered Thing, and we have a glimpse of Chris Evans and Topher Grace getting their sweat on!

We wonder what kind of race they're in. If it's a race to our hearts, they already passed that finish line years ago!

Ha!

Anthony Mackie is the latest confirmed cast member for the upcoming Marvel sequel, Captain America: The Winter Soldier.

Mackie is going to play Falcon, an African American superhero!

He's going to be the first African American superhero in a marvel movie!

Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury doesn't really count because he doesn't have "super" powers.

So, how does the 5'10" Mackie plan to prepare to play the 6'3" 245 lb character?

Chris Evans Talks About Crazy Captain America Workout Routine

Whatever he had to do, it totally paid off! Look at that body!

Chris Evans discussed his workout routine for Captain America: The First Avenger and wow, does it sound rough.

He says:

"We did two hours a day, and it was brutal. I usually like working out. Going in sucks, but walking out, you're like, 'I'm glad I did that! This was different. I'd walk out and I'd be like, 'I need to vomit. I hate this trainer. I hate this movie. I want to go to sleep for a week.' It was just relentless. I've got a fast metabolism and I lose weight very quickly, so for me to get big, it was just eat a lot."

Eating a lot sounds like an actor's dream, but Chris said it was the worst part of the routine. He adds:

"Working out sucked, eating sucked more. You get to a point where you just can't even look at another piece of chicken. You're just so bloated, but you just have to keep consuming protein, so that was tricky."

Yuck. That sounds pretty gross actually.

As for the parts in the film when he has to look sickly, Chris describes what the producers and special effects guys had to do:

"They went back and forth on the type of technology they were going to use. Initially, they were just going to do body shrinking, and then they thought, 'Well, maybe we can get another skinny actor and put Chris' head on it,' and I really, really was against that. I said to Joe, 'Look, I know we want this to look good and this effect to not be distracting from the film, but it has to be my performance. I don't want to share this. Your body is a huge piece of the acting puzzle, and I don't want to have somebody else's body tell the story that I'm trying to tell.' So they did some tweaking and they did a bunch of tests and we went back to the initial plan to shrink my body."

We can't imagine why anyone would want to "shrink" that body, but if it's for the film's plot, we guess that's okay.

Just give us hunky Chris Evans! That'll bring in the big buck$!

Chris Evans On "Body Shrinking" In Captain America

Chris Evans On “Body Shrinking” In Captain America

Chris Evans goes from puny to hunk in the upcoming Captain America movie.

Since there’s no way Chris could undergo such a physical transformation on his own, the filmmakers had to get creative on how to make is body look tiny.

Said Chris:

"It was a crazy process doing that stuff. They went back and forth on the type of technology they were going to use. Initially, they were just going to do body shrinking, and then they thought, 'Well, maybe we can get another skinny actor and put Chris' head on it,' and I really, really was against that. I said to Joe [Johnston, the director], 'Look, I know we want this to look good and this effect to not be distracting from the film, but it has to be my performance. I don't want to share this. Your body is a huge piece of the acting puzzle, and I don't want to have somebody else's body tell the story that I'm trying to tell.'"

He continued:

"So they did some tweaking and they did a bunch of tests and we went back to the initial plan to shrink my body. Anytime my body's completely still, if I'm lying on that bed or if I'm sitting in a chair not moving, it was easier for them to put my head on a smaller body. But anytime there was movement or action or acting involved, Joe and I were pretty adamant about saying, 'Look, you've got to shrink me down.' And they did. I haven't seen the film yet, but I've seen a couple different scenes of the shrunken stuff and it looks amazing."

We can’t wait to see these effects! But let’s be honest — we’re WAY more excited to see buff Captain America!

Captain America Battles Against Suicide

Captain America Battles Against Suicide

Captain America has fought a lot of evil villains over the years, but his most recent fight is not with a diabolical person. In the new comic book Captain America battles suicide.

When a man is on the brink of committing suicide, Captain America swoops in and helps him break out of that state of mind.

Said Tom Brevoort, Senior Vice-President of Publishing:

“Superheroes fight a lot of battles, but there are few more important than combating suicide. That’s why we’re making Captain America: A Little Help available for free via our digital comics outlets. If even one person calls this number instead of doing something very tragic, we know that means we succeeded.”

We love this idea! It can be hard to get through to someone who is contemplating suicide — this is a great way to go about it!!
