The friends and loved ones of the 60 Minutes reporter suffered another tragedy today.
Andy Rooney's former roommate, Bob Ruthman, went into cardiac arrest while he was attending Rooney's memorial luncheon. Ruthman and Rooney both attended Colgate University in the 1940s, and have remained friends for over 60 years.
Parademics rushed to the Century Club in New York and found a wheelchair bound Ruthman in the bathroom. Although he was initially thought to have died, new reports reveal that he was revived, and is currently in intensive care at a New York Hospital.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to him, as well as his family, during this difficult time.
Get well soon

She may be gone, but she will certainly be remembered.
Alice Ward, who was portrayed by Melissa Leo in The Fighter, has passed away at 79-years-old.
According to family friend John Descoteaux, Alice died yesterday at a Boston hospital after being removed from life support. She had gone into cardiac arrest back in January, and ceased breathing for over 30 minutes.
Our thoughts go out to Alice's family and friends during this difficult time.

To all of the men out there, in case you needed more motivation to lose weight, a new study found that simply being obese dramatically raises men’s risk of dying from a heart attack, regardless of whether or not they have other health problems.
It’s easy to think that heart attacks are a result from multiple factors, such as high blood pressure, diabetes, high cholesterol and arterial disease, but this study confirms that simply being obese can push you over the edge.
Said study author Jennifer Logue:
"Obese, middle-aged men have a 60% increased risk of dying from a heart attack than non-obese middle-aged men, even after we cancel out any of the effects of cholesterol, blood pressure and other cardiovascular risk factors."
If you’re at risk, hit the gym and start eating right! If you’re unsure how to start, go see a nutritionist! Don’t wait! Do it NOW!

This is tragic.
Jules Paxton, a yoga trainer who worked one-on-one with the likes of Sting, Denise Rich, Donna Karan, and Barbara Streisand passed away on Friday.
An ambulance arrived at his house in response to a report of a man suffering cardiac arrest. Sadly, Paxton died shortly after they go there.
The actual cause of death won’t be known for sure until an autopsy is performed.
Paxton lived a life giving back to people by teaching them how to be more in tune with their body and mind.
He will be missed.

Sad news for the real-life family featured in The Fighter.
Alice Ward, the mother of Micky Ward (the man The Fighter was based on), has been put on life support after suffering cardiac arrest. She stopped breathing for more than half an hour.
Micky and his brothers and sisters rushed to the hospital to be by her side. Thankfully, she’s doing much better.
This quote was pulled from one family member’s facebook page:
"She was dead for almost an hour and today she's … doing so well. The nurse said she's never seen anything like this in the eight years she's been working (at the hospital.)"
We’re so glad to hear she’s doing better!!
