We're really trying to control ourselves from writing out 'awwww' with an infinite number of w's here! This is TOO cute, and what a happy ending!
A female California Sea Lion pup was born on April 17th the Oceans of Fun exhibit at the Milwaukee County Zoo Born — her name is Talise. She weighed of 17 pounds at birth, which is healthy! The only issue is that her mother lacked the skills needed to nurse her, which is sadly common for first time mother Sea Lions!
So the Milwaukee Zoo veterinarian team took it upon themselves to provide the her with 24 hour care with specially developed formula to serve as a substitute for her mom's milk!
Here's the cool thing: just a week of care, keepers were able to reunite Talise with her mom… who is now nursing like a pro!
We could NEVER imagine caring for over 27 orphaned Black Bear cubs, but that is exactly what New Hampshire's only bear rehabilitator is doing this winter.
Over the past 20 winters Ben Kilham has cared for an average of 3-5 orphaned cub bears who hibernate in an enclosure near his home.
But this year there is a record amount of bears and the other problem is
Dogs are preschuzz….just like your human babes, but furrier!
So you want to make sure they are safely secured to their seats when you need to go on a drive, right?
Enter the newly formed Center of Dog Safety!
Using a test dog dummy (no live dogs participated) that weighed 55lbs (the average U.S. dog size), the Center tested four constraints that are deemed acceptable for child safety in a simulated 30 mph crash.
Alex Larenty, a British animal trainer, has been working with animals for 35 years.
He moved to South Africa in 1999 where he works with lions.
At the Lion Park in South Africa, even though its always dangerous to work with a lion, Larenty showed visitors how he used citronella to calm the lions enough to allow him to approach them and take care of them.
Citronella or not, we'd still be terrified we'd end up inside that lion's belly.
Though it would be awesome to say you got to rub a lion belly… from the outside of course. LOLz!
Cici, the 6-year-old female pitbull mix, had to have spinal surgery for a ruptured disc. After going through rehab at CARE (California Animal Rehabilitation) she’s back to normal!
She's even running around and not listening to her owner like a normal pup! LOLz!
The above video is the BEFORE so it may be a little heartwrenching. Make sure to watch the AFTER right below it.
It's been one hell of an eventful evening/morning for former charming actress Amanda Bynes -- a drug related arrest, overnight stay in a holding cell, courthouse hearing -- but now the question is...
What would be the best possible option for the retired star so that something like this doesn't happen again? She seems to like her drugs, but is Amanda's substance abuse just an indicator of more serious mental health issues?
Well, that's apparently what her parents believe! Rather than have her sent off to a rehab facility, Amanda's mom and pops Lynn and Rick reportedly believe their daughter should be in a psychiatric hospital... like NOW.
