Alejandro González Iñárritu is two for two tonight!

On Sunday, Tom Cruise presented Iñárritu the award for Best Film at this year's BAFTA Awards for his AH-Mazing film The Revenant!

The 52-year-old director took the stage at the Royal Opera House with Leonardo DiCaprio, Steve Golin, Arnon Milchan, Mary Parent, and Keith Redmon to accept the honor.

Alejandro gave a very wonderful speech in which he thanked everyone who was involved in his flick and then he passed it off to anyone else on stage who wanted to thank anyone!

This is the first time the acclaimed director has taken home the Best Film honor, and we're sure it wasn't easy because his moving motion picture was up against other fantastic flicks like The Big Short, Bridge of Spies, Carol, and Spotlight.

Congratulations are in order for Alejandro González Iñárritu!

Iñárritu gave an incredible speech as he dedicated the award to his wife ahead of their 20th anniversary and thanked everyone from Leonardo DiCaprio and Tom Hardy, to the rest of the cast and crew who worked on The Revenant!

Alejandro took the award home over fellow filmmakers Adam McKay (The Big Short), Steven Spielberg (Bridge of Spies), Todd Haynes (Carol), and Ridley Scott (The Martian), so clearly the competition was SUPER stiff!

The Present follows widow Anna Petrovna (Blanchett) who is faced with two decades of messy relationships and regrets when her friends arrive to celebrate her birthday.

This play will be the first Broadway role for the 46-year-old — though she's no stranger to the stage!

Blanchett also starred in The Maids, Hedda Gabler, A Streetcar Named Desire, and Upton's adaptation of Uncle Vanya!

No additional production information has been announced just, but it definitely sounds like a Tony Award could be in Cate's near future as well!
