Kathy Bates Takes Down Julia Roberts And Wins The Emmy For Outstanding Supporting Actress In A TV Miniseries Or Movie!

There's definitely nothing mini about this win!!

One of the first big surprises of the night happened when Kathy Bates won the Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a TV Miniseries or Movie!

So why was it so surprising? Not because she beat out her American Horror Story: Coven co-stars in Frances Conroy and Angela Bassett. But because she managed to beat out THE Julia Roberts!

Obviously Kathy is more than deserving of the award, but by the looks of her reaction, she DEFINITELY wasn't expecting to win! She also said in her acceptance speech that she didn't think she would win, so there's that too.

Either way, CONGRATS!

The hat is back, y'all!!

But more importantly, so is the man behind below the infamous lid, Pharrell!

The stylish singer proved to be the perfect choice to close out the 2014 BRIT Awards with a little help from Nile Rogers, and they definitely ended things on the right note!

The dynamic duo performed an impressive medley which included the Grammy-winning Get Lucky, Chic's classic hit Good Times, and the Oscar-nominated Happy!

It's probably a good thing that these guys closed out the show, because we would feel pretty bad for whoever would have to follow THAT!

Ch-ch-check out the awesome performance (above)!

Macklemore & Ryan Lewis Were Almost Left Out Of The Rap Category At The Grammys?!

What the WHAT??

It's obviously the norm for artists to be categorized in different genres at award shows, but to say Macklemore doesn't qualify to be a part of the rap genre is absurd!

Absurd we say!

According to a source who attended Grammy committee meetings, some members of the rap committee didn't think the Thrift Shop rapper should be categorized under the rap genre.

The rap committee was at such a standstill, the entire Grammy committee had to get together to discuss this!

From the Boardwalk Empire to the Emmys stage!

Rose Byrne might need to move over because Bobby Cannavale is bringing home a new lady tonight as he scored the award for Best Supporting Actor In A Drama.

With tough competition like Jonathan Banks for Breaking Bad, Aaron Paul for Breaking Bad, Jim Carter for Downton Abbey, Peter Dinklage for Game of Thrones, and Mandy Patinkin for Homeland, Bobby must be feeling on top of the world for landing the MA-JOR win!

Or if not on top of the world, he's at least feeling on top of New Jersey!

Study Reveals Oscar Voters Are Mostly Old, White Rich Dudes

President of academy

You ever wonder why that movie you thought was REALLY good and particularly relevant to our time DIDN'T win Best Picture at the Oscars that one time (or every time). Well, a new study may have revealed an answer to that question — the majority of voters are old, white rich guys.

Out of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences' 5,765 voting members, about 94% of white and 77% are male, while there are only 2% African American or 2% Latino voters.

The average age? 62! Only

Christopher Nolan Is Snubbed By The Academy Awards AGAIN!

Filed under: Icky Icky PooFilm FlickersAwardz

Understandable! If we were to give one complaint about the nominations, this would definitely be it!

Out of all the just-announced Academy Award nominations, it seems that the most backlash seems to be coming from Inception director Christopher Nolan's omission from the category of 'Best Director!'

While he was on the list of nominees - alongside Darren Aronofsky, David Fincher, David O. Russell, and Tom Hooper - for the 2011 Directors Guild of America, he is the ONLY one who didn't pick up an Academy Award nomination, instead being replaced by Joel and Ethan Coen!

And this is the THIRD time it's happened - he was previously nominated by the DGA for Memento and The Dark Knight, but snubbed when the Oscar nominations came around!

What gives?!

We think that given the consistently innovative and original material he produces, he deserves his name on that list! It's more than about time, guys!

Thoughts??
