The Flu Virus Is Decreasing Throughout The Nation!

flu activity is decreasing throughout the nation

This is AH-MAYZING!

It may be flu season, but according to reports, the illness has decreased throughout the nation!!

On Friday, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention revealed:

"Influenza activity remained elevated in the United States, but decreased in most areas."

Currently, 38 states shared that influenza was lingering around, but this is really good news because only a week ago, 42 states reported the illness.

However, with the flu decreasing in numbers, "pneumonia and influenza (P&I) was above the epidemic threshold."

With that said, anyone who is suffering from the flu virus should make their way over to the doctor because even though the numbers are down, it's best to catch the bug upfront before it turns into a monster! LOLz

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), various forms of heart disease affect approximately seventy million Americans. Any heart-healthy diet should include fish, which contains omega-3 fatty acids that may lower your risk for heart disease. Healthy fish include salmon, tuna, and mackerel. You can also get omega-3s from walnuts, chia seeds, and flaxseeds. Try to eat foods that are rich in soluble fiber. Such foods include oats, kidney beans, peas, apples, oranges, and carrots.

CDC Reports U.S. Measles Cases Have Reached The Highest In 15 Years!

CDC Measles

Anyone putting off getting their measles vaccine should listen up!

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, measles cases in the United States have reached their highest in 15 years!

So far, there have been 220 recorded cases of the contagious illness in our country, compared to the usual 60 to 70 cases per year.

Across the pond in Europe, there have been 26,000 cases reported between January and July of this year, with 9 deaths!

Luckily there have been no deaths in the U.S. because about 91.5% of the population is immunized, but the increased presence of the illness may be the result of unvaccinated people traveling overseas.

Experts note that measles is one of the leading causes of death among young children, so why risk it? All it takes is two doses of the vaccine for an estimated 98-99% chance of lifelong immunity!
