Interscope Chairman Jimmy Iovine Is NOT Pitching A Music Competition Show!

jimmy iovine denies reality show reports

Ah well! It's not like we're lacking in music competition shows…

Earlier today, we heard that Interscope-Geffen-A&M chairman/American Idol mentor Jimmy Iovine might be interested in creating his own reality show.

His rep (of course) denied the story…and now Jimmy himself is denying it as well:

Will Joe Rogan Be Returning To Host Fear Factor?!

Hot damn, he had better be! He IS that show!

Thankfully, according to Endemol North America chairman David Goldberg, Joe Rogan IS "very high on the list" of potential hosts for the just-announced reboot of Fear Factor!

Goldberg continues:

“Joe was a great host. I think his brand and his personality is associated with this show. This has all happened fairly fast. We’ll sit down with Joe and see if something he even wants to do. He’ll certainly be very high on the list.”

Ahhh! So we guess it's ultimately up to him!

Please, Joe?! Nobody does Fear Factor quite like you!

Fingers crossed that they can work it out!

What do U think?? Do U want to see Joe Rogan hosting Fear Factor again??

CBS Evening News Roundup: Katie's Most Likely Out, But Who Shall Replace Her?!

katie-couric-to-leave-cbs-evening-news-replacement

Hmm…decisions, decisions!

Although it hasn't been confirmed, everyone pretty much knows that Katie Couric will be leaving her position as the anchor for CBS Evening News once her five-year contract expires in June, and no one seems particularly certain on who is going to succeed her!

According to sources close to the situation, chairman Jeff Fager is looking at potentials both inside and outside of the network, although the biggest contender at this point is veteran 60 Minutes correspondent Scott Pelley!

Fager has apparently been favoring the newsman since Couric began contemplating the move, but apparently the position is not set in stone, because network execs may want to see someone with more celebrity than him to boost ratings!

Inneresting - especially because that's why they brought Couric in the first place, and yet the ratings still didn't pick up! Makes us think that maybe Fager should go with his gut and pick Pelley!

Who do U think should take over for Couric?? Scott Pelley or someone else?

The Social Network Coming Back To The Big Screen!

Smart move!

We bet there are a lot of people who missed it the first time around and want to see it on the big screen!

Due to its overwhelming critical and commercial success, The Social Network is being prepped for a theatrical re-release on January 7th in about 600 theaters all over the country - just days before its debut on DVD January 11th!

Jeff Blake, Sony Pictures' chairman of Worldwide Marketing and Distribution, explains:

“At the box office, this film showed true staying power, grossing more than four times its opening weekend gross – a rare accomplishment when the average for wide releases last year was below three times its opening weekend gross."

Wow!

That IS impressive!

We definitely think it deserves a second round in theaters!

What do U think?? Will U be seeing The Social Network again, or will U just wait for the DVD?

”This year's choices reflect the current critical mindset. It's proof that it's always a good year for movies.”

What an honor!

We will be absolutely SHOCKED if this movie doesn't win the Best Picture Academy Award!

Buh-Bye, Barry Diller!

nwenn5541150.jpg

It was announced this morning that long time chairman of Live Nation, Barry Diller, has told the members of the board his plans to resign.

Many people this decision has come about due to the clash between Barry and his other board members over creative musical control, but in his statement announcing his plans, Barry makes no mention of that. His statement reads:

“I have always said, since the merger of Ticketmaster and Live Nation, that I only planned to stay as chairman through the transition and integration of the two companies. It’s been almost a year and I informed the board today that while there was no rush, the board should start the process now to appoint a new chairman.”

When exactly this will all happen no one quite knows yet, but we do know Barry isn't going too far. He intends to stay on the board, but just not in the chairman position.

Stepping down isn't as effective as stepping away. What's the point if you're not going to go off and do something else? You've probably got enough money for an early retirement! Go, relax! Shuffleboard it up somewhere!
