Charlie Murphy has finally been laid to rest.

The comedian passed away April 12 at the age of 57 after a long battle with leukemia.

On Wednesday, comedians and friends gathered in New Jersey to pay their last respects to the Chapelle's Show star.

Jay Pharoah getting fired from Saturday Night Live has been a major head scratcher for us for months now.

We mean, he seemed like he hardly ever got on the show, but every time he did it was a massive hit. So what was the issue?? More like issues. Plural.

Basically, the comic says there were a lot of sources of friction, including that he was pigeonholed as just an impressionist, that the higher ups wouldn't green light Barack Obama sketches, and that he ruffled feathers by speaking up about the show's infamous lack of black women.

Pharoah also refused to cooperate in one very specific way — wearing a dress. He says he was always being asked to wear drag by other writers and cast members; he broke it down:

Dave Chappelle Pays Tribute To Charlie Murphy With The Help Of John Mayer

Charlie Murphy was such a standout presence on Chappelle's Show, on which he told legendary stories of playing basketball with Prince and fighting with Rick James, we've been wondering how Dave Chappelle would honor his late friend and costar.

We… did not expect it to be at a John Mayer concert.

But the comic and the singer have been friends for years, so Dave surprised John's audience in Ohio Wednesday night when he took the stage to share the sad news with the audience:

"Today I got some terrible news. My good friend Charlie Murphy passed away this morning. Everyone in comedy is heartbroken."

Dave and John talked Prince, Rick James, and partying before breaking it down with a performance of You're Gonna Live Forever In Me dedicated to their fallen friend.

We were shocked to report that Charlie Murphy died at 57 years old after a battle with leukemia.

Apparently, those who worked with the actor were just as taken back by the tragedy — because they had no idea he was even battling cancer.

Production sources on the show Power told TMZ that Charlie, who played a prison guard on the Starz drama, kept his illness extremely private and never spoke about it to anyone on set.

Family sources said Eddie Murphy's brother only shared his diagnosis with very close friends and family members, as he did not want his condition to define him.

But even family members who were privy to the illness were reportedly shocked when he passed away, as they weren't aware just how dire Murphy's situation was.

Power star 50 Cent took to Instagram to pay tribute to his deceased costar, who joined the drama for its upcoming fourth season. He shared:
