The Runaways' Jackie Fox Says She Was Raped And The Band Knew About It — Now Joan Jett & Cherie Currie Are Defending Themselves
This is just so sad.
Last week, former member of The Runaways, Jackie Fox, revealed that she had been drugged and raped by the band's manager Kim Fowley during a party.
What's more disturbing is that she said none of the party-goers did anything to help, including her fellow The Runaways band mates, Joan Jett and Cherie Currie!
The 55-year-old said Kim forced her to take Quaaludes and told a roadie that it was okay to have sex with her. Jackie recalled the terrifying moment while she was waiting for his response:
"You don't know what terror is until you realize something bad is about to happen to you and you can't move a muscle. I can't move. I can't speak. All I can do is look him in the eye and do the best I can do to communicate: Please say no. … I don't know what it looked like from the outside. But I know what was going on inside and it was horror."
When the roadie turned down the horrifying offer, Kim decided to step in. One of the bass guitarist's friends explained that the manager undressed Jackie and himself, and began to rape her in front of everyone.
Jackie said that while the horrific assault was happening, she saw people watching her, including Joan and Cherie.
Now, the two are taking to Facebook to defend themselves against Jackie's story. Joan wrote that she would never just be a bystander if she witnessed something like that:
