According to a new book by Robert Hoffman, the Kate Plus 8 star's disciplinary tactics crossed the line into child abuse!

The reporter alleges that Kate's own journals tell the story of an abusive parent.

Japan is finding more child abuse than ever before.

Health, Labor, and Welfare Ministry released a report Thursday listing 2011 as having the highest number of child abuse cases reported in the country's history.

So why is abuse on the rise?

A young Nevada couple was arrested for child abuse Sunday after their one-year-old daughter overdosed on heroin.

Justin Robinson and Lorena Vizina picked up their baby from Vizina's parents on Saturday after 10 days of babysitting.

The next day, Vizina went to her job as an escort, leaving baby daddy Robinson to watch the kid. Robinson obviously didn't do a very good job, as the little girl was unsupervised long enough to get into the junkie couple's stash of heroin and swallow a mouthful.

When Robinson found the child, she was shaking and rolling her eyes. Robinson apparently waited 45 MINUTES before finally taking her to get help. What, did he think she would just burp it up?!

Robinson and Vizina are currently being held by Nevada authorities. Their daughter is at a local hospital, in serious condition.

We can only hope the little girl pulls through- and that her "parents" stay IN custody and don't GET custody.

Kellie Park, a single mother living in West Haven Connecticut, was arrested on charges of child abuse after sending a series of video messages to the toddler's father.

The videos allegedly show Park taunting and physically battering her 10-month-old daughter.

A California water agency director, whose neighbor posted a video online that features the official slash parent apparently whipping his stepson with a belt for dropping a baseball during a game of catch, has resigned his position after the video has gone viral.

The neighbor turned in the disturbing video to police last week, and Anthony Sanchez was arrested on suspicion of felony child abuse.

Although no charges have been filed, yet, we're sure this parent will face some kind of consequences as it is clear from the video that he's physically abusing his son…for dropping a baseball. WTF!
