Angelina Jolie Attends Congolese Warlord Trial

Welp! People can say what they will about her man-luring strategies, but Angelina Jolie is a better humanitarian than most of Hollywood.

Donating money is fabulous and much needed, but Angelina doesn't just stop there. She actually takes the time to act on her strong feelings concerning world issues.

Here we watch Angelina at the International Criminal Court as she discusses the importance of attending the trial of a Congolese warlord charged with recruiting child soldiers (above).

The woman speaks with passion!

One of the biggest atrocities in the world right now is the exploitation of children in wartime.

Eliza Dushku has taken up the cause of helping former child soldiers recover after the emotional trauma they experienced in war. She raised $30,000 by her 30th birthday to build a recovery center for former child soldiers in Uganda.

This is such an important cause, and we thank Eliza for taking it up!

Eliza Dushku's Campaign To Help Former Child Soldiers

This is such an important cause.

Eliza Dushku knows what she wants for her 30th birthday.

The actress has started a campaign, called 30/30/30, to help her achieve the goal of raising $30,000 by her 30th birthday to help build a recovery center for former child soldiers in Gulu, Uganda.

This is something very close to heart as her mother is an African politics professor who has encouraged Eliza to live life with an open mind and an open heart.

Eliza says, "As my mother's daughter, and turning 30, I'm realizing how many stories I want to tell about the people of the world. I'm an internationalist at heart."

So Eliza is determined to help the children affected by Uganda's civil war and is asking for donations to help her in raising her goal. She explains:

"Think of these kids being forced to become killers. I can't imagine anything more horrifying. Kids are still coming out of the bush…after being grabbed out of bed in the middle of the night and handed an AK-47."

And what touched her the most about these children is "what you learn about forgiveness. We get so resentful and we hold grudges over so many trivial things here. To be able to forgive someone who macheted your entire family and to live as neighbors, that's amazing."

Wow. Very powerful. And inspirational.
