Michelle Obama To Release A Hip-Hop Album To Fight Childhood Obesity!

Michelle Obama releasing a hip-hop album???

Sounds pretty crazy, right? Well as insane as it might sound, it will actually become a reality as the First Lady plans on dropping a record to encourage kids to eat right and stay healthy!

Mrs. O has played a huge role in the fight against childhood obesity, and with some help from her organization Let's Move!, she hopes to keep kids healthy through the power of music!

White House assistant chef Sam Kass says hip-hop music is the perfect platform to get the message across to today's kids:

"Cultural leaders and visionaries in our country can give these messages to kids in a way that's not preachy. Kids are going to be dancing and listening to the music. I think hip-hop in particular – so many kids love hip-hop. It's such a core part of our culture."

What a great idea!!

But before you get excited about the First Lady stepping behind the mic and spitting some mad rhymes, it sounds like she'll be keeping the singing to the professionals!

The album, titled Songs For A Healthier America is set to be released September 30th and will feature a wide array of artists including Matisyahu, Travis Barker, Ariana Grande, Ashanti, DMC, and MANY more!

Ch-ch-check out the first song Everybody featuring Jordin Sparks and Doug E. Fresh (above)! Even Dr. Oz gets in on the action!!

How Obesity Affects The INSIDE Of A Child's Body

It's no secret that childhood obesity is one of the biggest health problems growing in the United States.

While it's obvious what all that weight does to the outside of a child's body, it's not always apparent how it is affecting the INSIDE of the body. CNN's Dr. Sanjay Gupta took one 250 pound 12-year-old boy to the hospital to show him just that and the health risks he is facing at such a young age are shocking, to say the least.

Check out the video above to see how obesity affects more than just appearances and why it's so important for parents to encourage their kids to lead healthier lives.

USDA Might Ban Potatoes From School Breakfast

USDA Ban Potatoes From Schools

Potatoes are delicious. It's a shame they aren't amazing for us past pretty small doses. But that's just it: they are pretty good for us when eaten in moderation!

And that's why Susan Collins is working her hardest to get some respect back for potatoes before the USDA bans them completely from school breakfasts!

"I certainly agree that french fries is not the healthiest choice, but a baked potato can be a good source of potassium for our children."

The new guidelines from the USDA would all but kick the potato out of meals completely for kids at school, save for a few instances for lunch.

The main argument is that there are better ways to attack childhood obesity — like getting rid of french fries and getting kids to be more active.

Do U think this will solve the problem??
