Charlize Theron Likes To Get Naughty For Bedtime!

charlizetheron.jpg

Charlize Theron is a new Mom, but that doesn't mean she can't keep her sense of humor.

The movie star revealed her favorite children's book, and it may not be a title you would expect from this outstanding woman.

Here's what she said:

"A lot of people have sent me these children’s books, and there’s this amazing book, a best-seller called Go the F-ck to Sleep. This book was good for me because it made me realize that I don’t need to judge myself right now.”

We're not judging either, Charlize!

That actually sounds like an amazing buy.

We're off to the book store, aka the internet, right now! Ha!

Clifford The Big Red Dog Is Coming To The Big Red Screen!

Clifford the big red dog

It's times like these that we are glad that Hollywood has completely run out of original ideas for movies. At least Tinseltown is picking some of our favorite children's books to adapt!

Universal has announced plans to turn Clifford The Big Red Dog into a feature film. Yayyyy!

Since it's a live-action/animation hybrid, we're assuming it will be like

Is The New Children's Book Vegan Is Love Too Graphic For Kids??

In the new children's book Vegan Is Love, author Ruby Roth starts her vegan-friendly book with adorable illustrations of animals hugging and being just all-around cuties.

But then things get a bit scary…

The book then includes drawings of dead animals and bloody carcasses. It also says that animals raised for meat have "violent and sad" deaths.

Ruh-roh.

We get the purpose behind the book - trying to teach children how to eat a healthy diet and to have compassion for animals - everything we completely support, but we're not sure if children are ready to see graphic images of how the sausage gets made.

Ruby promises that her "goal is not to scary any child" though.

AND, what does this to say to children who live in meat-eating families?

Watch the video (above) and tell us what U think! Would U read this book to your child??

Steve Carrell Is Awful, Terrible

Which is really good news!

It has been almost 2 years since we heard that 20th Century Fox and 21 Laps Entreatment had plans to adapt beloved children's book, Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day, into a "high concept" movie.

Now, it sounds like they're FINALLY working on getting this project out of development hell.

Jan Berenstain, The Co-Creator Of The Berenstain Bears, Has Passed Away

Jan and Stan Barentstein

So sad!

Jan Berenstain, who co-created The Berenstain Bears with her husband Stan (pictured above next to her), has passed away due to stroke.

The 88-year-old children's book author died in her Pennsylvania home on February 24, a day after suffering a major stroke.

The author published her first Bears book in 1962. 50 years and over 300 more books later, her son Mike says she was still hard at work up until the very end, explaining:

"Every day she was very productive. She was working on two books and had been doing illustrations until the day before she passed away."

It's always unfortunate to see someone go, but we'd like to think she is in a better place with her co-author hubby, who died in 2005.

Both creators of the beloved book series may be gone, but their spirit will live on through the impressive work they created and continue to inspire more generations of children because their son has confirmed he'll pick up where his mother left off.

Rest in peace, Jan!

Stephen Colbert

Victory for America!

The great humanitarian / Colbert Report host, Stephen Colbert, will be sharing his wisdom with America's young through his new book, I Am a Pole (And So Can You!).

Stephie debuted his first attempt at children's literature to Where the Wild Things Are author Maurice Sendak (watch video below). Sendak described I Am A Pole as “terribly ordinary," and regretfully added "The sad thing is, I like it.”

In a statement, Colbert said:
