Jared Kushner's Family Makes Millions Off Shady Deal With Chinese Company — MORE Trump Conflicts Of Interest??

no title

Donald Trump may not directly be benefitting from this, but his extended family sure is.

According to a new report by Bloomberg, Jared Kushner's family company Kushner Companies is set to receive a cool $400 million in what's being described a "sweetheart deal" with a Chinese investment group.

Anbang Insurance Group is investing in the Kushners' Manhattan office building — 666 Fifth Avenue, because why be subtle — to the tune of $4 billion. This would value the building at $2.85 billion, a record even in New York City.

The investment is said to be "unusually favorable" according to real estate experts, leading many to wonder if this is a way of buying influence with Ivanka Trump's husband — who is of course, also the President's senior adviser.

Campaign Legal Center general counsel Larry Noble explains:

Oh, Donald Trump, were you trying to tell us something with your spelling error on Twitter this morning?!

The President-elect was tweeting about China early this morning again (what else is new?!) when he made a ridiculous spelling error — and one that, well, it really tells the world what he's thinking as he is now just a month from taking office.

The original, messed up tweet was quickly deleted, but screenshots are forever, so here you go (below):

Donald Trump Is ALREADY Risking A Major Dispute With China — Here's What He Did Last Night

no title

Well, Donald Trump won't take office for another six or so weeks, and he's already risking a pretty significant diplomatic dispute with one of the more important countries in the world: China.

The President-elect on Friday night startled the international community when he spoke on the phone with the President of Taiwan — and while that may not sound like a big deal to those not in the know, that marks the first time a U.S. politician has spoken with a Taiwanese leader since 1979.

What the what?!

It's a complicated history, but basically, it all goes back to '79 and President Jimmy Carter, who severed diplomatic relations with the island and installed a "One China" policy, recognizing only the government in Beijing as the one, true China.

Every President since — from Ronald Reagan, to both Bushes, Bill Clinton, and Barack Obama — has followed the policy.

Now, Trump already has broken from it, and the consequences could be dire, because the general feeling is that China is PISSED at this development.

Trump, tweeting away on Friday, obviously doesn't see the big deal in his phone call (below):

While Perry failed to go into detail as to why she had to cancel, she cited a "family emergency" as the reason for bailing.

Disney's Live-Action Mulan Apparently Has A White Male Lead… Get The Deets On The Racist, Sexist Script!

UPDATE 12:50 PM EST: A source close to the movie told Vulture that Disney did indeed purchase the Mulan spec script with the white male lead but has no intention of using that take, explaining:

"The spec script was a jumping-off point for a new take on the story that draws from both the literary ballad of Mulan and Disney's 1998 animated film. Mulan is and will always be the lead character in the story, and all of the primary roles, including the love interest, are Chinese."

Jurassic World writers Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver are working the current version.

We can't wait to see how they mansplain themselves out of this one…

Disney has found huge success with live action remakes, thanks to Maleficent, Cinderella, and The Jungle Book, so it's no surprise they're already doing too much with the genre.

While reboots of The Lion King, Aladdin, and Beauty & The Beast were more or less welcomed, the most anticipated of the bunch just found itself an unlikely controversy.

That's because it was just revealed that the first draft of Disney's live-action Mulan actually features a white male lead in place of the historically Chinese female hero!

For some reason or other, The Legend of Mulan writers Lauren Hynek and Elizabeth Martin want their teenaged Mulan to be saved by a 30-year-old European man… and the Internet is not taking the whitewashing lightly!

Luckily, an anonymous industry insider outed the proposed plotline in a guest blog post with Angry Asian Man on Monday, saying:

Actually, probably not…

The suspicious site reports that the naming contest caught fire with more than 73,000 votes — 93% of the entire total — for Harambe McHarambeface, a combination of the late gorilla's name with that of a boat naming contest that got out of control.

A spokesman for the Chinese zoo allegedly discussed the contest, telling the media:
