Great news, Chipotle fanatics!

The Center for Disease Control announced Monday that the Mexican Grill's E. coli outbreak is over!

After 55 people were infected by the foodborne illness in 11 states, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service conducted investigations of the outbreak.

The chain shut down stores after the first outbreak, in which 21 of the infected customers were hospitalized.

An additional customer was hospitalized from a second smaller outbreak, which infected five people from three states. But neither outbreak had reports of death or hemolytic uremic syndrome — which can lead to kidney failure.

We certainly hope they wouldn't intentionally put people at risk…

Chipotle is one of the fastest growing fast food chains in America, but that progression may come to a halt if this lawsuit proves to have some truth behind it.

As we reported back in November, the Mexican grill was forced to shut down 43 of its stores in Oregon and Washington after experiencing an E.Coli outbreak that affected more than 20 people.

Then in December, 80 students at Boston College suffered gastrointestinal issues from the food, and now the chain is facing its biggest lawsuit yet.

That's because a new claim is alleging that the Simi Valley location linked to the very first norovirus outbreak back in August tried to fix the problem on their own before contacting public health officials!

Chipotle Is Going To Close ALL Of Its Stores!!!

Filed under: Sad SadFoodHealthFast FoodSickFood PornViral: NewsControversy

Say it ain't so!

We wish we were lying. We wish this was just a seriously messed up internet hoax. But sadly, we aren't and it's not.

Chipotle will be closing ALL of its restaurants on February 8, AKA the end of the world. Now, you might not believe us, but there is actually a silver lining to this horrible news.

The burrito giant is not — we repeat, is NOT — shutting its doors for good. It's not even going dark for a full week! Phew!

A rep for the popular chain told E! News that all of its stores will be closing for a few hours on that fateful February day so all U.S. employees can sit down for a national meeting about the recent E. coli outbreak.

During this time, execs will answer any and all questions from the staff about the health issue that shut down 43 branches last year and got 80 Boston students sick.

The corporate big wigs will also discuss their marketing strategy for this post-E. coli era.

And right now Chipotle's Quesadilla King, we mean CEO, Steve Ells is optimistic that the fast food joint will be able to bounce back really soon. He revealed during an investor conference on Wednesday:

"I'm hopeful that the CDC will call this over soon. We know that Chipotle is as safe as it's ever been before. We are all very confident that this E. coli outbreak would not happen again."

But until then, plan accordingly for those delicious doors to close nationwide for a limited amount of time on February 8!
