An appeals court just dismissed a ruling that another appeals court upheld earlier this year.
The Supreme Court might have to step in and make a final decision in this fight against cigarettes.
The law says that cigarette companies would have to use graphic imagery in their health warnings about the dangers of cigarettes.
A judge in the appeals court said:
"This case raises novel questions about the scope of the government's authority to force the manufacturer of a product to go beyond making purely factual and accurate commercial disclosures and undermine its own economic interest — in this case, by making 'every single pack of cigarettes in the country a mini billboard' for the government's anti-smoking message."
Because smoking is more and more prevalent among the nation's youth, the FDA has recommend that graphic images of rotting teeth and tar filled lungs might help dissuade teens from smoking.
We think anything that stops tobacco companies from advertising is great.
We need to protect our youth because they're our future!
Figuratively and literally!

According to UsWeekly, Robert Pattinson has traded his trusty electronic cigarette for for the real deals. We're coughing from the second-hand sadness already…
Their source continues, adding extra insight into Rob's stressful pain:
Before we answer the question in the title, you should know it really doesn't matter: smoking is awful and terrible for you, and you should quit regardless of how much weight you might put on afterwards.
New studies are showing a slightly higher increase that the previous average, which was 5-6 pounds.

Apparently, on the set of her new Lifetime movie, Liz & Dick, Lindsay Lohan is smoking upwards of two packs a day!
She's been working harder than she has in years, and the stress of wanting to do well on this movie must be driving her to smoke.
And boy is she smoking!
Allegedly, she has a cigarette every time the director yells "cut!"
A source said:
"Literally every time she finishes a scene she lights up another cigarette. You can hear the crew saying, 'That's cut — get a cigarette for Lindsay.' In between takes she would sit on the director’s chair puffing on her cigarettes. Lindsay has been working hard, but without the nicotine she probably could not make it through as she appears stressed at times and they do seem to calm her down."
There are better ways to relieve stress, like meditation, or deep breathing or getting a massage.
Anything is better than smoking!
C'mon, Lindsay! Quit for your health!
