Johnny Depp To Star In Dark Knight Cinematographer's First Movie

Johnny Depp must have gotten along quite nicely with cinematographer Wally Pfister while shooting Paul McCartney's music video for My Valentine because Depp might star in his directorial debut!

Pfister, who shot Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy, is calling all the shots behind the scenes for a drama called Transcendence.

He wants Depp to be his main man because he believes the actor is “a creative and intelligent artist" who can "bring great depth to the character and the overall narrative.”

And let's not forget that he makes us swoon with every move he makes.

Steven Soderbergh's Been Working On The Hunger Games???

steven soderbergh works on hunger games

Do tell, Steven!

New reports going around the Internet indicate that Contagion director Steven Soderbergh has been doing second unit filming on The Hunger Games, and NOW Steven has opened up about his involvement.

Here's what he had to say about it:

"The f—ing firestorm starts. 'Why is he here? What's going on? Is the movie in trouble? Is he directing footage from the second one?' All of this crazy-ass speculation."

"Back in April, [The Hunger Games director] Gary [Ross] — who is a close friend of mine [and] I've exchanged creative favors with non-stop over the last 15 years — when he got the boards for the shoot…called me and said, 'Hey, first week of August, I got these two days of second unit, Is there any way you can come down and help me out? Because I'd rather have you do it than hire somebody who I don't know. I said, 'Actually, that works out.' We'll just be finishing Contagion and prepping Magic Mike, and yeah, it could be fun."

More from Steven:

"[It was my duty] to come in and duplicate exactly what Gary and [cinematographer] Tom Stern…are doing, to mimic as closely as I can to their aesthetic. And that's what I attempted to do. But if I've done my job properly…by design, you won't be able to tell what I did because it's supposed to cut seamlessly into what they're doing."

Thanks for opening up, Steven! We gotta say though…with everything you've got going on right now, are you REALLY going to give it all up to become a painter???

The Dark Knight Rises Cinematographer Spills Deets On The Script!

We wouldn't expect any less than this, but it's still nice to have some good buzz going already!

Academy Award-nominated cinematographer Wally Pfister recently opened up about his next project, The Dark Knight Rises, and revealed that he has already read the script for the flick, and in his opinion, director Christopher Nolan has done it again!

He explains:

"I read the script two weeks ago, and he's done it. Plain and simple — he's done it. It's a phenomenal script. He's still in the process of cutting it back because it's a very long script right now, but it's really phenomenal. And he actually had me go back and wanted me to watch, in IMAX, 'Batman Begins' and 'The Dark Knight' again. When I watched those I had read the script for 'The Dark Knight Rises' and was like, 'Dude, it is a perfect trilogy.' I think that was his intent, to work off those two pictures — and they are very different pictures. And it's funny, we all had different opinions about which picture we like better. Our goal is to shoot as much in IMAX as we can. We're going to put in on the screen, and put it on the screen big. And I really encourage everyone to see it in IMAX if they can because we're really going for it this time. In terms of the action, we are all scratching our heads right now trying to figure out how we're going to do it, how we're going to do it in the amount of time we're going to do it in. The opening scene of the movie will blow your mind."

Oh man!

After the INSANE opening in The Dark Knight, we're scared to even think about how they're going to top that in this one!

We'd normally want to hear more details, but with this one, we think it will be best experienced with as little information as possible!

Thoughts??

Other Female Producers Come Forward To Defend Casey Affleck!

wenn1890282__opt.jpg

This story is getting uglier and uglier!

Casey Affleck is currently in some serious hot water for allegedly harassing Amanda White and Magdalena Gorka, a producer and cinematographer on his documentary, I'm Still Here: The Lost Year of Joaquin Phoenix, but two other women from the production have come forward to defend him!

Associate Producer Nicole Acacio says:

"I got to know both Amanda and Magdalena to some degree. I never saw anything out of the ordinary either on or off set, and certainly nothing like what they described in their suits. I was in Las Vegas at that shoot, and I never saw anything like that happen. Casey's wife and his children were in town with him. Casey is a great guy, and it's clear that he's a very warm, family-centric person. The real Casey isn't the one who was described in these suits. Nothing I've ever witnessed would lead me to think he could ever do anything like that."

An unnamed female editor also agreed:

"These lawsuits are contrary to everything that I personally know about Casey."

And it looks like Affleck himself is getting pretty pissed off at these two women, because he's planning to countersue for breaching their confidentiality agreements!

Geesh! This one's tough to call!

Who do U believe?
