FUN. Plays At War In Some Nights Teaser!

FINALLY! A FUN. song that isn't We Are Young!

After everyone and their wonderfully awesome moms covered the NYC based band's infections mega-hit We Are Young, we almost split at the seam from simply too much FUN.

But while embarking on a musical detox, this civil-war themed morsel of Some Nights (above) found its way into our mouths and we found ourselves binging on FUN. once again!

The track reminds us of Simon & Garfunkle's Cecilia - which is NOT a bad thing - but we're not really sure why a battle is taking place…

And we won't know until the Some Nights music video debuts in FULL this Sunday, June 3rd!

Ah the suspense…

If you've seen this photo, you'd believe so, too!

Check out this absolutely BIZARRE photo from 1870 that just appeared on eBay, featuring a man who looks impossibly like Nicolas Cage, and apparently lived in Bristol, TN around the time of the Civil War (above)!

Check out George Clooney on the cover of the new issue of Newsweek (above).

He's been getting lots of press lately after visiting Sudan to work with the UN and Google on launching satellite surveillance of the area to prevent a civil war from breaking out.

While in Sudan, he contracted Malaria, which got him even more attention.

My, how things change! Just think…this time last year, George was all over the news for his Up In The Air Oscar nomination.

Wonder what he'll be up to this time NEXT year…

George Clooney To The Rescue!

Filed under: Media MinutePolitikTech TalkGeorge Clooney

george clooney to keep peace in sudan

Okay, so maybe things didn't go so well when George Clooney tried to play a hero in Batman & Robin, but now it looks like he's getting a second chance in real life.

Yesterday, a group founded by George Clooney announced that it's teaming up with Google, a U.N. agency, and anti-genocide organizations to launch "satellite surveillance of the border between north and south Sudan to try to prevent a new civil war after the south votes in a secession referendum next month."

Here's what Clooney had to say about it:

"We want to let potential perpetrators of genocide and other war crimes know that we're watching, the world is watching. War criminals thrive in the dark. It's a lot harder to commit mass atrocities in the glare of the media spotlight."

We wish U the best of luck with your peacekeeping efforts, George!

Spielberg Has Found His Lincoln!

daniel day lewis as spielbergs lincoln

While Abraham Lincoln may not fight vampires in this movie, we're thinking Steven Spielberg will find a way to make it entertaining.

Spielberg won't start filming Lincoln until next Fall, but it looks like he's already found his 16th President of the United States in Daniel Day-Lewis!

Here's what Spielberg had to say about his casting decision:

"Daniel Day-Lewis would have always been counted as one of the greatest of actors, were he from the silent era, the golden age of film or even some time in cinema's distant future. I am grateful and inspired that our paths will finally cross with Lincoln.

More from Co-Chairman and CEO of DreamWorks Studios, Stacey Snider:

"Throughout his career, he has been exceptionally selective in his choice of material, which makes us feel even more fortunate that he has chosen to join with us for Lincoln."

The film is based on the best-selling book Team of Rivals, and the story is expected to focus on "the political collision of Lincoln and the powerful men of his cabinet on the road to abolition and the end of the Civil War."

We'll be excited to see how Daniel Day-Lewis takes on this ambitious role! If his performance in There Will Be Blood is any indicator, we're expecting great things!

Do U think Daniel Day-Lewis will make a good Lincoln?

George Clooney Wants US To Help Sudan

George Clooney the great. Talk about being inspiring.

Instead of lounging in the lap of luxury, which he could easily be doing, Clooney has decided to get involved in Sudan to use his popularity as a celebrity to raise awareness to the possibility of another bloody conflict.

The country is positioned to split itself in two, they will be voting on January 9th to see if the secession will take place. If so, Clooney says that is most likely there will be a civil war and we need to start the prevention of that from occurring.

He believes no less than another full-on effort by the U.S. is needed to stop a civil war from breaking out again. There has even been reports that a military build up is beginning in the north.

Clooney spent a week traveling through the Sudan to remote, conflict-prone areas with John Prendergast, founder of the Enough Project, an anti-genocide advocacy group.

Clooney explains, “If you knew a tsunami or Katrina or a Haiti earthquake was coming, what would you do to save people?" He wants us to get involved.

We sure hope we can prevent a civil war.

Thanks for getting involved bb!
