Danica Blue Carpet

That sexylicious former indy car driver, Danica Patrick, was looking absolutely stunning in Miami!

She was walking the blue carpet in celebration of the 50th anniversary of BeLive!

BeLive is a charity benefitting four Columbian non-profits, and the whole thing was held at the Ritz Carlton!

Sounds like a great and important evening!

Lookin' good, Danica!

Is Van Halen Leaving Warner Bros For Columbia Records?

van-halen-columbia-records.jpg

That, dear friends, is what we are hearing.

According to reports, after 35 years at Warner Bros., Van Halen has left WB for Sony. An insider reveals that Columbia A&R executive Stephen Ferrera has been dubbed the task of overseeing the next Van Halen album, which will hopefully come out sometime in 2012 and in fact be the first album featuring David Lee Roth since 1984.

Another insider at the label points out that "nothing has been signed yet, but Columbia has been in the lead for some time.”

While we're stoked about the fellas making another album, we can't help but wonder what the WB did to them to make them want to leave after three and half decades together. It seems kind of odd, right?

Will Barbra Renew Her Record Deal With Columbia? Or Will She Walk???

barbra streisand in record deal talks with columbia

Should she stay or should she go?

Barbra Streisand's got a new album coming out this August…and it could be her last one with Columbia, if the label isn't able to work out a deal with her.

Right now, it's looking like it will cost Columbia around $20 million to sign Barbra on for a deal, which could "include one new album and three reissues." Seems kinda pricey…but then again she is kind of a legend.

Here's what Barbra's manager Marty Ehrlichman had to say about his client's future at Columbia:

"I’m not peddling Barbra. I will stay with Columbia unless I can’t make a deal, then I’ll go elsewhere."

"It’s a process. [New Sony Music Entertainment CEO] Doug Morris just came in, and we’ve just started negotiating. We’ve been with Columbia since the very beginning. I have no reason to believe we won’t continue to stay there."

Some sources have said that the record deal renewal talks have been "heated" and words like "diva" have been used in reference to the negotiations.

Yeah, it's easy to call Barbra a diva and say that she's asking too much, but Babs is a living legend and she's been pretty consistent with her ability to deliver over the years! We'd say it would be in Columbia's best interest to work something out.

What do U think? Is Barbra Streisand asking too much with her record deal renewal? Or does she deserve it all?

Why So Secretive? Ethan Hawke's Role In New Total Recall Is Hush Hush

ethan hawke has top secret role in new total recall

He's not gonna be playing the triple-breasted alien from the original version…is he???

Last we heard about Columbia/Len Wiseman's remake of Paul Verhoeven's 1990 Arnold Schwarzenegger action/sci-fi movie Total Recall, director Len's wife Kate Beckinsale had been offered a role.

She's still in negotiations, and now another actor is joining the Total remake - Ethan Hawke.

For some reason, Ethan's role is being kept strictly secretive. All we know is that it's a minor, cameo-sized role.

We wanna know the secret! Why don't you come in and talk to us about the role, Ethan! We PROMISE to keep it on the DL!!! LOLz.

Why do U think Ethan Hawke's Total Recall cameo is being classified as Top Secret?

Introducing Marvel's Next Superhero…The Black Panther!

marvel making black panther movie

No, this isn't a gritty version of those silly Steve Martin detective movies…but it's probs almost time for them to reboot THAT franchise as well! LOLz.

Marvel Studios has begun development on their new film Black Panther. The story revolves around a "king of a resource-rich fictional African country who becomes a super hero."

For those of you out there who aren't up on your obscure-comic-book-character knowledge, the Black Panther first arrived in a 1966 Fantastic Four comic, and is renowned for being the "first black hero in mainstream comics."

Apparently, Columbia took a shot at a Black Panther movie in the early '90s with Wesley Snipes, but things didn't work out for the film or for Wesley.

Should be an inneresting project, especially because the writer, Mark Bailey, is known for his writing credits on documentaries including Pandemic: Facing AIDS and Ghosts of Abu Ghraib.

We're not sure exactly what to expect with this one, but our curiosity has been piqued.

Are U intrigued by the Black Panther?
