Michelle Obama Surprises Humanitarian Award Winner Chance The Rapper At The 2017 BET Awards!

Video 8 by tvshows_

The BET Awards are giving back to Chance The Rapper for giving back to Chi-town.

The rapper — sorry, MISTER The Rapper — is the youngest recipient ever of the Humanitarian Award, for his work with SocialWorks, empowering Chicago's youth through "arts, education, and civic engagement."

While a video package including Common and 2016 recipient Jesse Williams was inspiring, we were floored — and we're sure Chance was too — when Michelle Obama popped up with a special video message!

She called the 24-year-old "an inspiration to all of us," which, coming from this former FLOTUS, is about the highest compliment possible.

Ch-ch-check out Michelle's words, and Chance's acceptance speech (above)!

The 2017 TIME 100 list is here!

Unfortunately, it's a sad (SAD!) reality that Donald Trump, Steve Bannon, Ivanka Trump, and Jared Kushner top the list of the year's most influential people. Sigh.

And while there are a ton of deserving and inspiring humans (think: Elizabeth Warren, Viola Davis, John Legend, etc.) — other parts of the list definitely leave a sour taste in our mouths. We mean, even Vladimir Putin is on there…

Despite POTUS totally calling Paul Ryan "Ron" several times during a speech the other day (no, really), the Speaker of the House penned an essay praising Drumpf's "get it done" personality (even though he hasn't gotten much done at all).

Serena Williams & Common Spark Reconciliation Rumors After Their Breakup SIX Years Ago!

Serena Williams and Common

Oh snap!

Over the weekend, Serena Williams and Common — who had an intense two-year relationship that ended in 2010 — sparked reconciliation rumors as they both attended a charity event honoring Williams' late sister in Compton on Friday night.

An eyewitness tells TMZ the tennis player and the rapper were spotted chatting backstage at the grand opening of the Yetunde Price Resource Center before Serena took the stage alongside her sister, Venus.

This is a cause near and dear to the athletes' hearts as their sister, Yetunde Price, was murdered in a 2013 drive-by shooting. The center is set to open next month and will help those from the community affected by violence and trauma.

Amazing.

Although the exes left in separate cars and avoided taking photos together, the witness seemed to think something more serious was going on.

But alas, an insider insists the celebs are just friends. Borrrring. LOLz!

We'll keep you updated if anything comes of this!

This is some powerful stuff.

If you've been paying attention to national news lately, then you're aware that America is currently suffering from an increase in black deaths at the hands of police.

While victims like Alton Sterling, Philando Castile, Sandra Bland, Eric Garner, Tamir Rice, and Trayvon Martin may never get justice at this rate, Alicia Keys is done with seeing her brothers and sisters gunned down by people who are supposed to be there to help.

That's why the singer teamed up with Mic.com to create #23Ways, a public service announcement that highlights just some of the ways black people can be killed on a daily basis.

Henson, Pink, Janelle Monáe, Pharrell, Common, Rosario Dawson, Queen Latifah, Kevin Hart, Lenny Kravitz, Zoë Kravitz, Jada Pinkett Smith, Bono, Jennifer Hudson, Adam Levine, A$AP Rocky, Chance the Rapper, Talib Kweli, Swizz Beatz, Van Jones, and Tracee Ellis Ross to make this the most star-powered PSA possible!
