Kevin Williamson Says His New Show WON'T Crossover With The Vampire Diaries

kevin williamson says new show wont crossover with vampire diaries

This sounds like a lot of fun!!!

During a recent interview, Kevin Williamson spoke about his new pilot The Secret Circle, and he's made it a point to emphasize that it's an entirely separate project from The Vampire Diaries:

"My biggest fear is I don't want to be split between the two shows and I don't want to water myself down and hurt either."

“My goal is for Julie [Plec] and I to stay focused on The Vampire Diaries, and Andrew Miller and his team will be in place and we will help and guide him along the way [on The Secret Circle]. I’m not going to step away from my vampires. I’m too invested at this point; it’s too much of a family for me to walk away from, but there’s room in our day for me to help guide The Secret Circle along the way.”

And here's Kevin on the similarities between the two shows:

“Those similarities exist, but the mythology is completely different."

“The witches in The Vampire Diaries are not in the same universe. We’re not connecting them; there are no crossovers. There are no vampires and werewolves in the witch world in Secret Circle.”

“You’ll watch us build another mythology based on L.J. Smith’s books that will become as twisty and turny as The Vampire Diaries [is] but with a whole new story. There’s an epic love story that we hint at in the pilot that is going to blow up about two soulmates. It’s not as violent as The Vampire Diaries or as scary.”

We're glad to hear that Kevin will continue to focus on Vampire Diaries as he pursues this next project.

And yes, as we said before, we'll def tune in for this new show. Sounds pret-ty good to us!

Are U looking forward to Kevin Williamson's Secret Circle? Would U like to see it crossover with Vampire Diaries?

Kimberley Walsh Set To Host The Xtra Factor!

kimberley-walsh-in-talks-to-host-the-xtra-factor

The British X Factor might be losing one member of Girls Aloud from its team, but worry not! Another one may be signing up!

Now that Cheryl Cole seems to be relatively close to landing a judging position on the US version of the reality competition, Kimberley Walsh is reportedly set to replace Konnie Huq as the presenter of UK's companion series, The Xtra Factor, in light of rumors that Simon Cowell fired the latter for her underwhelming performance during the last season!

According to sources:

"Kimberley was worried that she wouldn’t be suitable for the role with Cole as a judge, as she may have been biased towards her acts but now Cheryl is off to America she feels it is the perfect opportunity. Cheryl has put in a good word for her and bosses were impressed after seeing her present Suck My Pop last year. It’s pretty much a done deal."

Nice! Isn't it so funny how things work out sometimes?

And we're thrilled that Chezza was nice enough to show her support! Such a good friend!

What do U think?? Is Kimberley a good fit for The Xtra Factor?

Kevin Williamson Talks The Vampire Diaries Companion Show!

This keeps sounding better and better!

The Vampire Diaries executive producer Kevin Williamson recently announced that he would be developing a 'companion' show to his smash CW series - involving a group of college-aged paranormal investigators - and he's now revealing more details about what he wants to accomplish with the series!

He explains:

"It's set on a college campus. There's a little bit of some paranormal investigation involved, but it's more about the characters. It's more about what [fellow executive producer] Julie [Plec] and I like to do, which is create a world of people. A young girl goes to college, and it turns out there's a lot more going on. We've got this whole world and this whole sort of mythology about this girl and the journey that she takes. It's full of scary, horrible murder and surprises, and all the twists and turns that we love to do, but once again it is a story about epic love. That's what we're about here at The Vampire Diaries. And that's sort of why you call it a 'companion piece', is because you will see those similarities in the show. You know, a bunch of fun characters that you can visit every week and watch them go through all these scary, twisty storylines, but it all leads to some greater story about epic and tragic love. It would be a companion in the sense that they would sort of exist in the same world, but it's a different show. I don't want to mess with [The Vampire Diaries]. This show's gold. This show's very special."

It certainly sounds like it!

Like all the fun of those ridiculous paranormal research reality shows, but with actual story and creative license! And romance!

We're very excited to see this come to fruition! We'll DEFINITELY be tuned in!

What do U think?? Will U watch Kevin's new show??

This sounds like a fantastic idea, but we hope that they keep the two series separate!

Kevin Williamson, the creator of The Vampire Diaries, has reportedly been tapped by the CW to develop a "companion" series to the show, which will focus on a group of paranormal researchers!

According to insiders, the show is still in early stages of development, but the network is shooting for it to air next season, and as of now, no cross-overs are planned between the two series.

Excellent! We think this has a lot of potential - especially with Williamson on board!
