Concert Promoter Stiffs American Idol Contestant Out Of Cash

Another lesson in showbiz.

Former American Idol contestant Kimberly Locke says that a concert promoter stiffed her out of her hard-earned cash after performing on the American Stars in Concert tour in 2008, which featured several other former AI contestants.

Kimberly took concert promoter Scott Stander to court, but even though he was ordered by a judge to pay her, he still hasn't coughed up the ca$h in over 2 years.

She says:

"I worked very hard on that tour, and I was disappointed that Stander failed to pay me. This was not only unprofessional, but very insulting and completely unacceptable."

What a scumbag! So many people in this industry take advantage of performers. Keep fighting, Kimberly and get your money from this guy!

Sorry Chris Brown, Nobody In Australia Wants To Buy Your Tickets

Whomp whomp!

Seems like nobody wants to see Chris Brown perform in Perth, Australia.

Ticket sales for his upcoming concert have been so slow, promoters have been forced to take drastic measures to fill seats.

In fact, they've gone so far as to offer a 3-for-1 ticket deal for his show at the Burswood Dome.

Not even a 2-for-1 deal???

Despite the fact that tickets are not selling, promoters refuse to move the show to a smaller venue. Concert organizer Daniel Prichard says that ticket sales tripled the week after Chris lost his cool on the set of Good Morning America.

Ew, tacky. Is that the best way to promote their headlining act?

No wonder tickets aren't selling.

Rihanna Caught In The Middle Of Fake Concert Scheme

A Brazilian concert promoter company, Unique Sports and Marketing, signed a $1.7 million contract with Vegas Style Entertainment to book Rihanna for three upcoming gigs in November.

The problem is, is that Vegas Style Entertainment has no connection with the singer whatsoever and conned the company out of $825,000.

By the time Unique Sports and Marketing found out, they had already invested in thousands of dollars and are now suing the company for $4,685,000 in damages.

Yowza! Maybe do a background check next time??

Pay Up, Ne-Yo!

Whomp, whomp! Fair is fair, we guess!

Ne-Yo and his booking agent were ordered to pay a hefty $$$ this week to a rightfully pissed off concert promoter. The singer missed a show in Washington back in 2008, but never returned the deposit given to him to appear. The promoters claimed that they were misled by Ne-Yo and his team and dragged them to court to be reimbursed.

The judge ruled in the promoter's favor and awarded them $156,000 in damages. During the hearing, Ne-Yo testified that he knew in his "heart of hearts" the deposit should have been returned and confessed he was sorry.

Well, at least there is that! No need for hard feelings if he really is sorry!

Ne-Yo Sued!

Now what!

Ne-Yo is facing down a lawsuit from the promoters of his canceled 2008 New Year's Eve concert in Washington state.

The promoter claims that not only was he not refunded the money for the canceled gig by Ne-Yo's booking agent, but he also has a "damaged" reputation.

The lawsuit seeks $1 million dollars in damages, to refund the $95,000 deposit and the rest to clean up his rep. (Sure, it will take that much money! Why are you questioning it???)

The real question is, why did Ne-Yo cancel the show in the first place? If he has a decent enough of an excuse, he may walk away winning this thing.

But we'll have to wait and see.

Hey, Rihannna! Make sure your booking agent has this all under control for all of YOUR canceled shows!

Kelly's Cigarette Sponsor Gets Put Out!

Filed under: Icky Icky PooKelly Clarkson

It's no longer a lose-lose situation!

After much bitching and moaning, L.A. Lights will no longer be sponsoring Kelly Clarkson's concert in Indonesia.

A concert promoter from Java Musikindo has confirmed they reached a final agreement with the icky ciggy company and are working to remove all the billboards and advertisements featuring L.A. Lights within the next two days.

The show will still take place on April 29th, but without a sponsor.
