Overheard In The Conde Nast Elevator

conde-nast-elevator-twitter.jpg

Some brave soul at Conde Nast has created a Twitter for the building's elevator!

The tweets are from actual conversations overheard inside the 4 Times Square lifts and some of the things that come out of people's mouths are HIGHlarious.

Here are some of our faves so far:

Girl: Omigod what happened to your knee?! Fashion boy: Oh god, I fell dancing! Girl: Omigod it's like you came back from the war.

Fl 5 Lady peering at her friend's to-go box of lettuce and carrots: Ooooh, that looks good!

[Guy walks into elevator wearing "Legalize Gay" t-shirt] Teen Voguer: That shirt is so two months ago.

Girl #1: There should be an elevator that only goes to Vogue. Just up to the 12th floor and back down. Girl #2: totally.

[Girl holding brownie abashedly in elevator] Male coworker: I'm not judging you.

Summer Intern: My driver had SUCH a bad attitude. I was like, "don't complain to me, I didn't eat lunch either! You think I eat clothes?"

Sounds like a great place to work, doesn't it?

It's Official! Conde Nast Is Leaving 4 Times Square

conde-nast-moving-to-one-world-trade-center-in-2014.jpg

After a year of speculation, Conde Nast announced they're moving out of 4 Times Square and into One World Trade Center.

The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey have approved the publisher's $2 billion lease, which means they'll be calling downtown home for the next 25 years.

Wowsa.

The 104 story downtown building is scheduled to be completed in 2013, but Conde Nast's 20+ magazine titles won't be moving in until 2014.

When the big move does happen, mag's including Vanity Fair, Vogue, W and GQ will takeover 21 floors or 1 million square feet of real estate.

Emma, Brooklyn, Sofia & Vanessa Are Hot For Condé Nast

Hollywood was a happenin' place on Monday night and a fashionable one too!

While most celebs were at the Scream 4 premiere, others spent their evening at the Soho House for Condé Nast Traveler’s “Hot List” party.

One of the prettiest guests of the night was Emma Stone who looked amazing in an icy blue beaded chiffon Preen dress. Her hair and makeup were equally as beautiful, making this a perfect look from head to toe.

Bosom buddies Brooklyn Decker and Sofia Vergara both showed off their sexy figures in Dolce & Gabbana.

The Sports Illustrated model went with a navy lace dress and red Manolos, while the Modern Family actress chose a strapless tulle cocktail dress and Louboutins.

The real standout in the crowd was Vanessa Hudgens. The Sucker Punch starlet went in a completely different direction by wearing a shiny white Mimi Plange suit and Casadei heels.

Conde Nast Hacker Busted!

ross-ulrich-admits-to-hacking-into-conde-nast-system.jpg

A 22 year old man in Ohio has confessed to illegally accessing Conde Nast's computer system last year, following a probe by the FBI.

The perp, Ross Ulrich, says he isn't sure if he'll charged for downloading the 1,100 images, but has already agreed to pay the publisher $12,500 from a copyright lawsuit.

As for why he did it?

Ross says it was so he could be first to post the image in online forums, but now he's "over it".

Yeah, federal investigations tend to do that.

Conde Nast is doing the unthinkable: putting fashion and food under the same roof!

The publishing giant has created a new division called Conde Nast Restaurants and will license out magazine names to open up restaurants around the world.

Chairman of Conde Nast International, Jonathan Newhouse said they've signed a deal with restaurateur Arkady Novikov and successfully opened up three restaurants in Moscow: Vogue Cafe, GQ Bar and Tatler Club.

The next cities getting Conde Nast restaurants are Dubai, Hong Kong, Istanbul and Kiev, which are scheduled to open next year.

Hopefully it'll prove successful so they can open up some in the US!

Conde Nast One Step Closer To Downtown

Goodbye Midtown, hello Downtown!

Back in May we mentioned that publishing giant Conde Nast was mulling over the idea of moving their office from 4 Times Square all the way down to 1 World Trade Center.

Now it looks like they're one step closer to making downtown New York their new home because they've reached a tentative deal to take over a third of the building.

Conde Nast's CFO John Bellando sent out a letter to all employees that the company is "in active discussions regarding 1 World Trade Center" and has "been evaluating real estate opportunities that would allow us to house all our brands in a single, state-of-the-art headquarters."

But employees won't have to pack their things just yet. Bellando noted that a final decision is months away and a move is unlikely before 2014.

The tower is expected to be finished in 2013 and as of yet no one has officially signed a lease.
