It truly is a sad, sad day. A legend has been lost and there is a hole in many people's hearts that can never be filled by her passing.

Early this morning, Elizabeth Taylor passed away due to congestive heart failure, which she had been battling against for many weeks. In the wake of his loss, her son, Michael Wilding, released the following statement, saying:

"My Mother was an extraordinary woman who lived life to the fullest, with great passion, humor, and love. Though her loss is devastating to those of us who held her so close and so dear, we will always be inspired by her enduring contribution to our world. Her remarkable body of work in film, her ongoing success as a businesswoman, and her brave and relentless advocacy in the fight against HIV/AIDS, all make us all incredibly proud of what she accomplished. We know, quite simply, that the world is a better place for Mom having lived in it. Her legacy will never fade, her spirit will always be with us, and her love will live forever in our hearts."

Agreed.

There will never be another like Dame Taylor and we will treasure her movies and her extraordinary philanthropy work forever.

Our thoughts and well-wishes are with her family and friends.

Oh no! Not our Liz!

Dame Elizabeth Taylor's reps have confirmed that the screen legend has been rushed to the hospital and is fighting for her life!

Taylor is being treated for symptoms caused by congestive heart failure and is currently at Cedars Sinai Medical Center where she has been put on a respirator and remains in critical condition.

Her press agent Sally Morrison released a statement:

"Elizabeth Taylor was hospitalized earlier this week when she was taken to Cedars Sinai suffering from symptoms caused by congestive heart failure, an ongoing condition. This issue is being addressed. She is currently being kept in the hospital for monitoring. Her family and close friends are appreciative of the warm support and interest of her loyal fans but have asked that people respect her privacy and allow her medical team the time and space to focus on restoring her back to health."

Meanwhile, a family friend says:

"She was fighting for every breath. They had to put her on a respirator. The children from out of town are on their way. Two are already at her bedside keeping vigil. Right now it doesn't look good. She's in God's hands. Everyone close to her is praying."

This is terrible news!! We'll be praying for Liz and hoping she will recover as soon as possible.

agathe von trapp dies at 97

We're sad to hear this, but she lived a long life.

Agathe Von Trapp, a member of the musical family whose story was adapted into the film The Sound of Music has died at 97-years-old on Thursday after suffering from congestive heart failure.

She was the eldest daughter in the famous family who escaped from Nazi-occupied Austria.

Agathe is survived by four members of the Trapp Family Singers.

Our thoughts are with them during this difficult time.
