Contact lense misuse

Think you're taking good care of your eyes and contact lenses? Think again!

A recent study published in the December issue of Optometry and Vision Science has found that only 2% of 400 people surveyed are following the rules for safe contact lens use.

The most common contact use errors included showering or swimming while wearing them, sleeping in them and using a pair for a longer time frame than recommended.

Dwight Cavanagh, a clinical professor of ophthalmology who surveyed the contact users, had this to say about their careless misuse of the corrective vision tool:

RPatz Does Entertainment Weekly!

robert-pattinson-on-the-cover-of-entertainment-weekly

Whether he's sparkling in the sunlight or not, you cannot deny that RPatz is one seksi mofo!

Check out the Twilight actor's latest Entertainment Weekly cover, with Water For Elephants co-star Reese Witherspoon (above)!

In the accompanying article, he talks about coming to the end of his vampire journey with the completion of the fourth film, Breaking Dawn, and what he WON'T miss about them...you know, other than all 'wtf, did they really just knock feminism back that many years?' moments sprinkled throughout the franchise.

He explains:

“You can never really predict what an audience wants or how to maintain a career, other than doing what you think is cool. Generally, what I think is cool is what everyone else hates. [On his Twilight contact lenses] My God, I’ll be glad to see the last of those. I actually want to get some kind of plastic explosive. I want to reanimate them into something so I can kill them. It’s so embarrassing for me — after so many years, it’s still a process every single morning. Everybody else has figured out how to do it, and then there’s two people holding me down because I can’t do it myself.”

LOLz! That's amazing!

We want to see a video of that for the Breaking Dawn DVD's bonus features!

But don't worry about maintaining that career! You've pretty much secured yourself a screaming audience of pre-teen girls - and some creepy moms mixed in - for at least the next four or five years, no matter what kind of movie you make!

And we know that WE'LL be keeping an eye out for that gorgeous jawline on the silver screen ourselves!

Might we suggest a nude scene in your next project? Ha!

Warning On Wearing Contact Lenses To Get GaGaloo Eyes

Seems Lady GaGa's little monsters are putting their health at risk after trying to imitate one of her looks.

After GaGaloo released her Bad Romance video, several people opted to go for the cartoon-like large eyes by purchasing special contacts to make their eyes appear larger than normal.

As for GaGa though, her high-tech team simply used their digital magic to alter her eyes post production.

But fans are trying to do it with the help of special contacts, "Circle Lens", which many are warning and can cause some serious infections if not handled properly.

According to Dr. Assumpta Madu, from the New York's Montefiore Medical Centre, “There literally is potential for somebody to lose their vision within 24 hours from an infection.”

The contacts, which cover most of the white area in the eyes, aren’t even available for sale in the US as it hasn’t been approved by health officials.

Instead, people are buying them off foreign websites which offer them in a variety of colors, usually for less than $30.

Check out this crazy video above of a GaGa fan going through the process of applying makeup and Circle Lens to get bigger eyes. Fast forward to the 6 minute mark to check out the craziness.

Blinged Out Contact Lenses???

Filed under: Wacky, Tacky & True

swarovskicontacts_e.jpg

Really?

If you're looking for the perfect accessory to go with your new bedazzled iPad, then you need a pair of these Swarovski encrusted contact lenses.

Designer Anthony Mallier from India says of his crystal creation:

Swarovski has been synonymous with adding that extra `sparkle’ to everyday life. Swarovski crystals have the power to transform the ordinary into something extraordinary through their sheer brilliance. `Sparkle’ is one such attempt to enhance the expression of one of our most expressive features: our eyes. Sparkling eyes have long been an expression of natural beauty. With Swarovski crystals fused into contact lenses, your eyes can sparkle like they’ve never sparkled before!

They seem cool and unnecessary, but wouldn't the embedded crystals be uncomfortable on the eyeball?

Would U wear these contact lenses???
