In A Fuck-Up For The Ages, The New York Mets Are Paying A Former Player More Than A Million Dollars Every Single July 1st All The Way Through 2035

no title

Now THIS is the type of contract we can get behind!

The New York Mets are struggling through the summer with a load of injuries and their fair share of off-field drama, but now that it's July 1, the team's focus turns to what is arguably their most ridiculous legacy: on this day every single year, they pay Bobby Bonilla exactly $1.19 million.

There's a problem, though: Bobby Bonilla hasn't played for them since 1999. He hasn't even played Major League Baseball since 2001!!!

And yet the Mets owe him this money every single year on July 1 all the way through 2035. How is this even possible?!

It all starts back in the early '90s, when Bonilla was

It looks like there's hope for Kesha's career after all!

On Friday, Sony Music told BuzzFeed News that they're actually working on a new album from the pop princess!

While the singer had previously been denied her injunction bid to get out of her recording contract with alleged sexual abuser Dr. Luke, it appears all hope is not lost.

Sony opened up about the potential project in a statement, saying:

"Creating a new album takes time, and everyone's goal is to deliver a high quality album consistent with Kesha's past releases. We hope to share exciting new music with Kesha's fans soon."

Since her courtroom loss, the 29-year-old has released a collaboration with Zedd and teased a "f*ck off" duet with an unnamed Grammy-winner.

Plus, her legal team said back in August that the songstress had submitted almost 30 new tracks to Luke's Kemosabe Records.

And, Sony is insisting that everyone involved is working "to keep the process moving forward."

However, the TiK ToK performer's attorney, Daniel Petrocelli, isn't entirely convinced that Sony is serious, saying progress hadn't been made until after their most recent court appearance:

Kesha's Mom GOES OFF On NY Judge Who Denied Her Daughter's Injunction After Dr. Luke Cancels The Singer's Billboard Music Awards Performance!

See what she has to say!

Kesha has already reacted to her cancelled Billboard Music Awards performance, but now it's her mom's turn to sound off on the controversial call.

And to say she's not happy is a HUGE understatement.

On Wednesday, Pebe Sebert took to Twitter to call out the people responsible for pulling the plug on her daughter's upcoming performance. And believe it or not, she's not taking aim at Dr. Luke — well, not directly.

The 60-year-old went on social media to completely slam the American legal system, firing shots at the New York judge who denied the pop star her injunction bid to get out of a contract with her alleged abuser.

And while the Kemosabe label head was the one who decided to yank Kesha from the show, the momma-of-three decided to place blame on the woman who allowed the Sony producer to continue controlling her daughter's career, writing:

Kesha Is Appealing Her Injunction Ruling Against Dr. Luke

See the argument HERE!

Kesha isn't done fighting.

On Monday, the pop powerhouse filed legal papers to take her battle with Dr. Luke — AKA Lukasz Gottwald — to an appeals court.

Last month, the blonde was denied her injunction bid to get out of her recording contract with the Sony producer, who she claims sexually assaulted and abused her.

The 29-year-old's lawyer, Mark Geragos, wrote in the docs that keeping his client in her contract is similar to slavery:

"First, the Court erred in basing its decision on its finding that Kesha could record without interference from Gottwald. Although it recognized that 'slavery was done away with a long time ago' and that '[y]ou can't force someone to work . . . in a situation in which they don't want to work,' the Court's ruling requiring Kesha to work for Gottwald's companies, purportedly without his involvement, does just that."

The attorney also explained that, if let out of her contract with her alleged abuser, Kesha could compensate Sony Music Entertainment for breaking her deal.

He argued that the judge didn't consider that alternative option would allow the singer to be free while also giving the music giant the ability to still get their money back, saying:

Tom Brady's New Contract Comes With A $28 Million Signing Bonus AND Protection From Deflategate! Deets HERE!

Brady's making some big bucks!

Tom Brady isn't going anywhere.

The loyal New England Patriots quarterback signed a contract extension with his team through the 2019 season! The 38-year-old's new terms will also protect him from any potential penalty in the NFL's Deflategate appeal.

For both the 2016 and 2017 seasons, the pro's base salary will drop down to $1 million, which is a pretty steep decline from his previous rate of $9 million.

However, that's actually a good thing.

This way, if he does get a four-game suspension in the scandal's appeal — even though this astute seventh grader pretty much proved his innocence — he won't be losing as much money.

This Boston Globe reporter did the math so we don't have to! Take a look (below)!

Sony's Lawyer Says Dr. Luke Is The Only One Who Can Terminate Kesha's Contract!

Filed under: Music MinuteLegal MattersBusiness BlitzKeshaSony

Get the deets HERE!

This isn't great news for Kesha.

After the 28-year-old was denied her injunction bid to get out of her contract with Dr. Luke, she took to Facebook to pen a lengthy statement about the controversial case.

In her post, she explained that she is still willing to work with Sony, who owns the producer's Kemosabe Records label, as long as the company is able to break the bond between her and the music maker.

However, an attorney for the corporation told the New York Times that while they aren't requiring the pop princess to work with her alleged abuser, they aren't able to eradicate her contract with him, saying:

"Sony has made it possible for Kesha to record without any connection, involvement or interaction with Luke whatsoever, but Sony is not in a position to terminate the contractual relationship between Luke and Kesha."

In fact, the legal rep admitted that only her supposed assailant can be the one to free her from her binding agreement, because she's signed to a separate deal with Luke's production company, Kasz Money.

The lawyer added:
