Beano Cook, if you haven't heard of him, was a longtime contributor to the Pittsburgh sports scene and an ESPN college football studio commentator since 1986. He actually had the nickname the "Cardinal of College Football" because of how knowledgeable and good he was at his job.
He has passed away at 81 years old.
Here is what George Bodenheimer, ESPN executive chairman, said in a statement:

The American Cancer Society's advocacy affiliate wants a legitimate study done on sugary drinks, and they want it to be as in-depth and focused as the report on smoking in 1964.
Basically they're saying sugary drinks are as bad as smoking.
