Though it seems like old news, there is still one person ticked off that Corey Haim was omitted from the Oscar's Memoriam video this year - Corey Feldman.

But listen…he actually brings up a good point.

In a recent interview about his fallen friend, Corey reflects on how the media had and has treated Haim's career and personal issues and brings up a parallel between him and Charlie Sheen. Though he doesn't call Charlie out on his issues, per say, he does insist that there is a double standard when it comes to celebrities. He explains:

"Well I have to be completely honest and say, I'm not a huge fan of Charlie Sheen. I don't make it my goal to ever talk badly in the press, we're all in it together, that's the way I look at it, but Charlie in particular, especially the way that he's affected other people that I know — point blank, Charlie and Corey started their careers pretty much together, and Corey fought for his entire life to recover from those early experiences and to get his life together."

And [he] eventually did so, and yet he was snubbed by all his peers on both of the award shows where he should have been honored. Whereas Charlie has lived a very parallel life, the only difference being is that he had a hit TV show.

But if you look at the body of work that Charlie has done, I guarantee you Corey has had more success than Charlie has in his film career. And yet, if Charlie were to die tomorrow, I guarantee you, he would be included in the memoriam. That's just something for people to think about."

It certainly is and to be honest, we think he is absolutely right. If Charlie were gone tomorrow, his career would warrant him loads of recognition, regardless of all the shenanigans he's pulling these days.

Still, we don't think the Oscars would include them in their tribute. Most likely the Emmys.

Looks like we're hearing quite a bit from Corey Feldman lately.

Yesterday, we heard the positive news that Feldman has got some more work on the horizon, and now we're hearing some less-than-positive reports that he's pissed because Corey Haim was snubbed from the Oscars' In Memoriam segment.

Here's what Feldman had to say about it:

"Corey's films have earned the industry over a half a billion dollars and his work remains an inspiration to young artists world wide…Corey dedicated his life to the film industry. The same industry that failed to dedicate even 30 seconds to his memory."

Here's a statement that the Academy sent out in response:

"Whatever the length of the sequence, there will always be fans and family members of those not included who will be disappointed by their omission. The Academy extends its understanding and its apologies to those who missed seeing a favorite face in this year’s feature."

We understand that they won't be able to fit everyone into each year's In Memoriam, but they could have given Corey a place on there. He was a well known talent who died way before his time, and it would have been nice for him to be included.

Last year it was Farrah Fawcett, this year Corey Haim. Who's in charge of this???

Last night, during the Oscar's In Memoriam segment, several key Hollywood players weren't recognized while Celine Dion sing sweetly in honor of those who had passed away this year. Among them was Don Peterman (director, Footloose, Men In Black, Splash), Monica Johnson (writer and frequent collaborator with Albert Brooks) and perhaps most notably, Corey.

What an oversight! Don't even tell us no one at the Academy has seen Lucas!

Such a shame.

P.S. - If you've never seen Lucas, its worth an add to your Netflix queue. It might be the only movie in existence where Charlie Sheen appears to be completely sober from beginning to end.

Another interesting development…

The El Lay County Coroner has released Corey Haim's autopsy results, and word is that his tragic death was not directly caused by drugs.

Haim's cause of death is apparently listed as respiratory distress, or diffuse alveolar damage - most likely from his pneumonia - as well as hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, which is when the muscle in one's heart thickens and cuts off the blood flow.

There was also a variety of drugs in his system, but the Coroner alleges that it was not to the degree where it would have played a part in his passing.

So sad. We wonder how much his prescription pill abuse could have contributed to his bad heart, though.

We previously reported that Corey Haim had obtained 553 doses of prescription drugs before he died, but it seems he was possibly selling them.

According to Dr. Bruce Goldberger, Haim's behavior does not come as a shock!

The physician said:

“I’m not surprised at these amounts because Corey Haim was just behaving like thousands of addicts across the country right now. He was probably selling some of these drugs as it was well documented that he had money problems and the tragedy is that the system totally failed him."

Corey was also linked to an illegal prescription drug ring, where prescription drug pads are stolen from doctors and used illegally. Although there were 5,000 fraudulent prescriptions found, it only led to one arrest.

Sad.

No wonder his body couldn't handle very much!

It has been revealed that Corey Haim visited seven different doctors and pharmacies to get a hold of at least 553 doses of prescription drugs including narcotics!

Between February 2, 2010 and March 5, 2010, Corey had more than 195 Valiums, 194 Somas, 149 Vicodins and 15 Xanax pills!

The California Attorney General said:

"In a period of 32 days, Corey Haim obtained at least 553 doses of potentially dangerous prescription drugs. He died five days later. It's important for people to understand that legal, prescribed drugs can be just as dangerous as street drugs, and doctor shopping can be deadly."

So awful!
