The film world has lost another great.
George Kennedy has passed away at the age of 91. His grandson, Cory Schenkel, just revealed that the movie star died at 4:30 a.m. in Boise, Idaho on Sunday, after struggling with his health for quite some time.
Cory explained that after the acclaimed actor's wife, Joan, died about a year ago, his grandfather's health had rapidly begun to decline.
For the past month, George had been in hospice care.
But he leaves behind an accomplished career. The thespian won an Oscar for his role in Cool Hand Luke, and even appeared in all of the Naked Gun flicks.
His legacy also includes a lengthy list of film and TV roles, two Golden Globes nominations, and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
His last appearance on the big screen was alongside Mark Wahlberg in 2014's The Gambler.
Our hearts are with everyone affected by this sad loss.
