Heidi Klum Inks Fragrance Deal

We're kinda surprised this didn't happen sooner.

On Friday, Coty Beauty revealed supermodel turned businesswoman Heidi Klum is coming out with her own fragrance this year.

Coty's SVP of global marketing said of Heidi:

"Heidi has a unique position in the market. She is not just a supermodel or a celebrity — she is also a businesswoman. She is very multifaceted — we plan to create a fragrance which celebrates all of those facets."

Miz Samuel's already named her perfume Shine and is expected to hit shelves in September.

Dita Talks Makeup & Fragrance Desires

Burlesque superstar Dita Von Teese says she'd love to have her own cosmetics line.

Dita, who does her own makeup and is writing a book filled with beauty tips, explains: "I want to do my own make-up line, because I feel like things are missing in the world."

She adds her line would include a matte lipstick because "that’s so hard to find these days."

But the sexy performer isn't stopping with makeup, she's also working on a fragrance!

Von Teese tells WWD:

"…What I really want to do is make my own fragrance. I don’t want to smell like anyone else. I have to talk to the smaller companies, because the bigger ones, like Coty, are like 'Well, not everyone knows your name, like the Kardashians or Victoria Beckham.' "

Why should that matter? It's the people who do know her name that are important.

Lady GaGa Signs Fragrance Deal With Coty!

It's really true this time!

Beauty company Coty has finally inked a licensing deal with Lady GaGa to release multiple fragrances under her name.

Little Monsters can expect Gagita's first scent to hit shelves in the spring of 2012.

Will U be buying it???

No GaGa Fragrance In The Works

Despite what was reported earlier about Lady GaGa developing her own fragrance, it's just not true.

Steve Mormoris, Coty's SVP of global marketing squashed the rumor saying "I know nothing of this project. It is a totally false rumor."

And there you have it.

But not all is lost little monsters. It's still possible that GaGa will be rolling out her own sunglasses in the future!

J. Lo Adds Another Fragrance

After raking in over $1 BILLION on her last fragrances, why stop now?

Jennifer Lopez will soon debut her latest stank, Love & Glamour, making for her 17th launch.

Being the perfectionist that she is, Jenny did admit to driving the folks over at Coty a little crazy. She explains:

"I drive [Coty] a little bit crazy because it’s always not signature enough. I go back and say things like, ‘Can we push the sandalwood a little bit more, can we make a tiny bit more sexy?’ To translate that into actual chemistry is a difficult thing. Then they go back and say, ‘What does she mean by sexy?’ And I’m like, ‘You know if you [take] that little piece that smells a little bit like wood but has a little bit of musk? But I just want you to add a little bit of sweetness. Can you do that for me?’ And then I think we are in the right direction. And then they come with one or two variations and I say, ‘No, that’s not it.’ It’s a long process."

Can you say, 'DIVA'!? She'd drive us crazy too!

J. Lo also explains how she came up with the bottle design for Love & Glamour:

"We wanted to do something that fit in with the name. We thought of a woman on a red carpet with a gown and being the height of glamour at an amazing party at some black-tie event. It looks like a sculptural piece of a woman in a gown.”

We're guessing she was inspired by herself considering the bottle is very curvy.

For the ads, J. Lo went old Hollywood, which works. It's little cheesy, but at least it's not her getting a lovey dovey with her hubby Skeletor Marc Anthony.

Love & Glamour hits shelves in October.

Marc Jacobs Gets Nekked For His New Fragrance

That's one way to get someone's attention!

For the first time ever, Marc Jacobs is appearing in his own ad campaign for his new men's fragrance Bang.

So what does he do for his advertorial debut? He drops trough and spreads eagle!

Not surprisingly, this was MJ's business partner Robert Duffy's idea. Marc said in an interview:

"Robert and I work closely with Coty on these projects, and he said, 'Marc, you look so great now — you should be the model for men’s fragrance.' My immediate reaction was, I don’t know. But then I came to see that it made sense. Men’s fragrance, unlike women’s in a certain way, is very personal. It’s a layer on top of skin — for women, it can be like changing a makeup color, but not for men.

Once I agreed to be the model, I couldn’t see what I would wear to express this. We tried it with clothes, but it didn’t work. Then Juergen [Teller, who shot the campaign] had the idea for the silver Mylar, and it all came together. The silver Mylar also gives it that flash, that bang."

Inneresting. But Duffy does have a point. Marc's bod is bangin' and if you've got it, why not flaunt it? Especially when you're 47!!!

Marc also explains the name behind his first men's fragrance in 10 years:

"The name came to me first. We had been approached by Coty to do another men’s scent — we did one many years ago — and I was in the gym, and the name Bang came to me.

As a word, it has so many connotations, including a sexual connotation. And I loved the immediacy and the sound of the word. For me, fragrance is always a multilayered process — Bang was the catalyst for how this fragrance came to be. You’re drawn to try it, to experience it."

Mix the name with the ad, it all comes together nicely.

You can get Bang'd by Marc starting on July 30th when the cologne hits shelves.

Diane Keeps Her Clothes On For CK

Shocking, but gorgeous!

Rather than bringing the seks, Diane Kruger is looking very angelic and virginal in the new ad for Calvin Klein's new fragrance, Beauty.

Quite a change from the usual CK ads with sweaty, greasy models humping each other!

The label's creative director Francisco Costa explained the concept during a dinner held at the flagship store on Madison Avenue:

"Certainly sex is in our DNA, but this fragrance speaks to a different audience [than scents like Obsession and Euphoria.] It is very much the spirit of Collection — elegant, sophisticated, timeless and beautiful — and designed to appeal to a more mature customer. This is a woman in her 40s, who is self-assured and secure."

Catherine Walsh, senior vice president of American Fragrances at Coty adds:

"It’s very elegant, and that’s why we wanted to work with Diane. This woman we’re trying to portray — she’s not someone who doesn’t have experiences in her life. We wanted this woman to be worldly and well-traveled, a confident woman and a woman who had strength."

We like the idea. And as much as we like seeing half nekked models, their new ad is refreshing. Hopefully it will appeal to their new audience.
