SUED! Comic Book Writer Slams Cowboys And Aliens For Infringement

comic-book-writer-sues-cowboys-and-aliens-for-infringement-web.jpg

A comic book writer wants Cowboys and Aliens to pay up for stealing his idea.

Steven Busti is suing the producers for infringement. The writer claims he wrotea comic created back in 1994.

You guessed it. The comic was called Cowboys and Aliens.

His version was published in another comic, Bizarre Fantasy. The producers of the movie created the graphic novel inspiring the Daniel Craig-Harrison Ford-Oliva Wilde movie in 2006.

Does he have any proof?

The lawsuit thinks so.

Busti states that his 1994 version appeared next a story about Scott Mitchell Rosenberg…

Rosenburg is a producer for the 2011 film. Ouch.

Cowboys & Aliens may not have been a TREMENDOUS success at the box office, but director Jon Favreau isn't being too hard on himself!

IN FACT, Jon treated himself quite well over the Labor Day weekend, by indulging in a delicious ice cream cone at the Malibu Fair (above).

Enjoy, Jon! And good luck with Magic Kingdom!!!

Have U been indulging in any delicious treats over the Labor Day weekend?

The Lone Ranger's Fate To Be Decided This Week!

lone ranger decision this week

Do the right thing, Disney!

To recap, last month The Lone Ranger got the axe due to budgetary issues AND because of Cowboys & Aliens' lackluster success.

Then, director Gore Verbinski tried to keep the movie alive by cutting the budget, and star Johnny Depp even said he'd be willing to fund the movie himself…but only with Verbinski onboard.

Now, we're hearing that Disney execs will be meeting Gore and producer Jerry Bruckheimer this week to make a decision on the future of the film.

We truly hope that Disney comes to their senses and gives this project the O-K. After everything that Johnny did for them with Alice in Wonderland, the LEAST they could do is let him have his passion pic!

In return, we're sure he'll give them sixteen or seventeen more Pirates flicks. Ha!

Do U think Disney will say YES to The Lone Ranger? Or will the project officially die this week???

Not Without My Director! Johnny Depp Won't Do Lone Ranger If Gore Verbinski Isn't Onboard

johnny depp wont do lone ranger without gore verbinski

Gotta love that loyalty! Yet another reason why Johnny is amazing!

To recap, last month Disney axed The Lone Ranger because of budgetary issues AND because of Cowboys & Aliens lackluster success.

Then, we heard that director Gore Verbinski was fighting to keep the movie alive by cutting the budget.

THEN, we heard that Johnny Depp would be willing to use his own money to make The Lone Ranger work if necessary.

NOW, producer Jerry Bruckheimer and Gore Verbinski are proposing a new budget "in the $215M range." Hopefully Disney will accept this, because as much as Johnny wants this movie to get made, he refuses to do it without Gore.

Do U think Disney should accept a $215 million Lone Ranger budget? Do U think the movie will be a success if it gets made?
