You're A Dip, We're A Dip, Let's All Eat Some Warm Crab Dip!

There is something about a hot and bubbly crab dip that makes people go crazy every time! I recently asked Facebook fans to submit a favorite dish they would like to see as a 4 ingredient recipe! Bruce from West Hollywood, California suggested a Hot Crab dip, and I was excited for the challenge. I love purchasing fresh canned crab at the seafood counter; you get all the taste without the hassle. If you can't find crab, substitute raw chopped shrimp or canned albacore tuna. Thanks Bruce for the idea … give it a try and let us know what you think!

8 ounces (1 package) cream cheese, softened to room temperature
8 ounces crab meat
1/2 teaspoon seasoning (like horseradish, old bay, chili or paprika)
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

Combine all ingredients together. Put in oven safe dish and bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes, or until golden and bubbly. Serve with your favorite crackers, bread or vegetables for dipping, and enjoy!

Playful Dog Meets Mr. Krabs

So adorable!

It's funny how perspective changes everything.

For instance if you ch-ch-check out the video (above) you'll see one puppy who thinks its found a new friend as it chases a crab around on a beach.

The crab, however, is probably crawling for its life as it breaks towards the ocean.

If they both had to retell the story they would probably recount this particular experience in different ways, but luckily for us - they can't talk and we are able to just admire it from afar as humans.

Or whatever we are.

The Ghostly Yeti Crab!

The yeti crab is all white (thus the 'ghostly') and it is covered in hair, so 'yeti' makes sense.

These crabs live in complete darkness in some of the deepest parts of the ocean.

They survive by living in huge clusters near volcanic vents that shoot out mineral-rich, 720-degree water and eating bacteria off their bellies.

Sounds cool!

Check them out in the above video.

David Hasselhoff Has Crabs… Named After Him

david-hassehoff-gets-a-crab.jpg

A new species of crab was discovered, and scientists have named it the "Hoff" crab after, who else? David "The Hoff" Hasselhoff!

The name came from the fact that the crab has a hairy chest!

Ha!

It's a species of the yeti crab, an appropriately named hairy, white crab.

The crabs like to hang out in huge clumps, at some points nearly 600 crabs per square meter.

Pretty cool to have a crab named after you.

Fiddler Crab Techno Dance

When male fiddler crabs try to attract a mate, they do it by waving their big claw around.

So someone who owns one decided to put it to techno.

The result is pretty HIGHlarious.

Check it out in the above video.

Restaurant Chain Mocks "Save The Animals" PSAs

Environmentalists and animal rights activists aren't too happy with restaurant chain Legal Sea Foods' new ad campaign.

The restaurant is mocking "Save the Animals" PSAs by playfully saying we should save the fish of the sea…..to eat them.

Awww. We don't want to think of them that way!

Watch one of the commercials (above) and two more after the jump to see what we're talking about.

Oil Spill Leaves Mark On Indigenous Crabs

Every day, we learn more and more about how the oil spill has left the ecosystem of the Gulf Coast a mess.

Today, we found this report from National Geographic, explaining how scientists have been found oil droplets inside the shells of Blue crab larvae!

So sad!

Scientists are hopeful that the oil will escape as the crabs grow and molt, but for now, the poor lil baby crabs are stuck with it.

Check out the video above to learn more.
