U.S. Army Maj. Glenn Battschinger is one extraordinary fellow!
The father of two boys was stationed in Afghanistan back in 2010 and was missing his kids and helping them with their Eagle Scout advancement.
To ease some of his homesickness, the Army Major decided to help some of the children whom he saw everyday.
After getting permission from his superiors, he gathered 40 of the boys around one day, and started to teach them the way of the Boy Scouts - including the program's pledge. He also got creative with the famous handkerchiefs that boy scouts wear by using material from parachute cords to replicate those knots!
