No, you still should not be putting those dollar, dollar billz anywhere near your face! LOLz!
However, a recent study analyzing the shopping habits of those who use cash at grocery stores instead of credit or debit has found that they are less likely to buy "unhealthy" food.
Published in the Journal of Consumer Research, the study sampled receipts of 1,000 loyal shoppers at a Northeastern supermarket chain over a 6 month period and analyzed what they bought and how they paid.
The researchers discovered those using cash were more likely to stick to their shopping list, while credit and debit card spenders bought more on impulse.
Basically, credit and debit shoppers are more likely to give into their taste buds when passing through the bakery section and come home with a dozen donuts instead of a dozen carrots!
This research only stresses the importance of never shopping for food on an empty stomach and always sticking to a list of healthy options when visiting the grocery store.
